Is there or are there?

Alas, there are poorly educated people everywhere. Not just within the English speaking world but all languages that are spoken in different countries, Spanish, Portuguese etc
I was in Spain a few years back and they could tell that I had learned most of my Spanish from Mexico and South America, however were delighted that I tried unlike 90% of tourists
Not just Americans.

Don't get me started on Americans, because the next sentence will be 'they are looking really good here.' They'll literally give all of their sports teams plural names - the Knicks, the Broncos, the Yankees - and then claim that teams are singular.
To be fair, we do the same. "PSG are the current CL holders". PSG is a singular entity, not plural. So, shouldn't that be "is the current CL holders"?

It doesn't really worry me ..... a lot of things seem to be 'acceptable' or tolerated these days as regards vocabulary and language, and i have no idea what half the words the kids use nowadays even mean, but I'll never lose any sleep over it .... innit !

As long as I can roughly make out what people on here and on youtube are trying to say, then I'm happy enough.

People in Florida say irregardless instead of regardless. And they actually say heigth instead of height. Drives me crazy.

Where were you when we was shit :(
