Is there something wrong with British culture and society?

I think the fact that we're all online talking about what SHOULD or COULD be done whilst our city burns highlights the major problem with society.

I'm no better, I'm sat here doing fuck all whilst my city is being wrecked.

We outnumber the 'rioters' 100 to 1 yet we're doing absolutely nothing.

I really hope you're being sarcastic!!

You, of all people, know the cause and not the symptom should be attacked or cured.

In the long term yes.

Hundreds of big, hard blokes on here talking the talk all day about how they'd 'kick fuck out of them' yet when it did kick off they stayed in and posted on here.

That's my point.

It's easy for me, you, whoever to sit and moan.

Had Rosa Parks spent an evening on Twitter back in the day, maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation!

I'm no better.

Obviously long term solutions are needed but won't be found and we both know why.

Our culture is one of increased media...it is moving us away from one another and from the world we inhabit.

Inadequate parents are allowed to have kids end of.

That's always happened, throughout history. What we have now is the consequences of 30 years of greedy neoliberal deregulation capitalism, designed to keep the rich rich. Still, I'm only a rag, what do I know ?

Two out of two.

Not bad! But still, the first answer is only part of it.

I agree that bad parenting is a real problem - probably the most fundamental problem in society infact- but how do you know if someone's a bad parent until they become a parent?

If by "neoliberal deregulation capitalism, designed to keep the rich rich" you mean crony-capitalism, then, again, I kind of agree.

I see you've decided against explaining your opening diatribe...

If these guys do not respect their parents then how can we expect them to respect society, the youth of today are more informed than they have ever been, seeing the leaders of their country involved in corruption stealing millions in expenses and tax dodges, how can these guys tell the youth of today to act with respect when they don,t act with respect themselves, the punishments have to start at the top, the bankers will do for a start?

I replied to you.

I'm interested in how you thought it was flawed.

I also asked you to clarify your opening gambit so I could assess if what I thought in my head was correct or not. You may seek it out some pages back.
