Spurs wanted Bellamy but we refused.

Bale, at that time, was seen as a Jonah, having never won a game when he appeared for Spurs.

It was a big miss but I think Gareth hadn't played in a winning Spurs team in The league at the time. So much for scouting systems!!

Yeah Matt Mills was signed by Pearce. To be totally fair to Hughesless Bale was a shite left back and while many thought he'd make a good winger I doubt they realised just how good he'd become when pushed further forward.

Bale has only had the one standout season. Wasn't there some crazy record during his early days at WHL that he had gone so long without appearing in a winning Spurs team?

I have a good friend who is ITK at Forest and loan deal for Bale was done & dusted and hewas moving within days. However, Spurs got an injury (don't know who) and Harry Redknapp pulled the deal as Bale was need for cover. The rest is history as they say.

Not sure it really matters now, we have the best team in the land, in the world and Bale is very much over-rated in my opinion. As someone else said, he has had one good season......... does that make him God? No it just means he has had one good season and boy would the keyboards be on fire if we had signed him before he had that one good season.

Nonsense. He's had 3 good seasons and one outstanding season. On last season's performance he's one of the top 10 players in the world. 19 league goals in 29 games I think it was, bearing in mind he's not a striker. Scored more goals from outside the box than any other player in Europe's top 5 leagues. Carried an average Spurs for the last 3 years and won Premier League Player of the Year.

I think most of Bluemoon would have spunked themselves into a coma if we'd signed Bale.

So when was this supposed to have happened? Seems very unlikely.
