is this squad good enough to win the title?

Yes.

Caballero or Pantilimon? Caballero.
Sagna or Richards? Sagna.
Lescott or Mangala? Mangala.
Fernando or Rodwell/Garcia? Fernando.

That just about sums it up for me. Chelsea will be our biggest challengers, and perhaps even slight favourites, if they can keep everyone fit/level-headed.

Can't see anyone else coming close.

That just about sums it up for me too, doesn't mean we'll win it but we have as good a chance as anyone.

I am positive that we will still have a squad capable of winning the title once the music stops on 31 August but we will not be alone this season in that regard. We may still have the best squad and best first XI and I would be rather disappointed if we do not have the best first choice team but the criminal FFP sanctions will allow other to close the gap; I think that more than anything, this year, makes me want us to defend our title successfully.

Injuries remain the biggest concern and I would be happier if we could manouevre a couple of improvements to our attacking options in midfield.

the squad is stronger , but our season will be defined by the amount of injuries we suffer , we had the most injury hit squad from the top 6 clubs last season, and still won it . We need to eradicate all these muscle strains / pulls etc ,and with aguero injury prone and negredo out for 4 months , we look a little light up front , jovetic and dzeko will start most games , unless sergio can rekindle his fitness and form. Maybe Guidetti should be given a chance form the bench , make or break season for him.

GK: Hart, Caballero
RB: Zabaleta, Sagna
CB: Kompany, Demichelis, Mangala, Nastasic
LB: Kolarov, Clichy
CM: Fernandinho, Yaya Toure, Fernando, Garcia, Rodwell
RM: Milner, Navas, Silva
LM: Nasri, Jovetic
AM: Silva, Jovetic, Nasri
ST: Aguero, Dzeko, Negredo

We could easily field two sides capable of beating anybody on their day when everyone is fit - which is just insane. Then consider we are the only side who's had a 'settled' transition from last season to this - United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are all having big squad shake ups that will require adapting their style too, and rely on players settling in. We have a champions squad that is settled and has been tinkered with in key areas of weakness. Our style will be the same, with a more solid foundation at the back.

I think we'll win it, just ahead of Chelsea.

Basically comes down to injuries and Yaya. If Aguero is fully fit and Dzeko keep his form up, we're good to go. Otherwise, we've got Negredo and Jovetic, both injury prone or suffering from injury.

I dunno about winning the title, but expectation wise the coming season ,i will be happy if we finish in the top three and with a good progression in the champions league.

Last season's squad won the title by two points in spite of a wobbly start due to a new manager, playing style and players bedding in.If we hadn't suffered long term injuries to key players and made mistakes against the dippers and Chelsea away and been tactically stupid against Chelsea at home we would have won it even easier.

We have strengthened so far with no key players leaving. If we get a couple of top class additions in to what we have bought so far and have a better season injury wise the rest will have a job to knock us off our perch.

Yes squad is good enough, but we must get off to a better start than last year. But the problem with that is we are looking at no Negredo and with Aguero still not match and away from pre-season training getting him fit is asap is vital. If not, then we are left with just Edin to fire the bullets for a while unless as has been mentioned Guidetti steps up.

Also read in MEN that MP is prepared to sell Negredo if that is to be believed maybe he is hoping to get somebody in initially on loan with view to permanent deal agreed at end of season to get around FFP regs

We have addressed the weaknesses in our side and kept our best players. Another year with a settled side and another season under the same manager. That in itself should see us improve. We got out of the CL group and this season can press on. Injuries hit us at the same time, when games were coming thick and fast and Pellegrini wanted to win everything. This season he will rest players for the priorities which will be the league and the CL and will not have to risk players in the league cup as we did last time out.

Ideally we get a favourable CL draw for once and we click from the get go. Our away form ended up being impressive and if we can get off to a decent start we should be absolutely fine. I think having a tough start will help us, those sides will be in transition whereas we will be settled and whilst Chelsea will definitely improve, they still have to gel and that might take half a season. I would say we are favourites and as long as we make sure we don't drop so many points away from home, and lose to rivals we will be fine. It was a testing first year and we came through it, Pellegrini will know how he wants the side to play and what players work best. I think we are in for another exciting year.

I think the squad is much stronger, but I'm waiting for confirmation that Mangala has signed.

Caballero
Sagna
Fernando
Mangala?

All important and key signings addressing weaknesses. And we have Jovetic fit. Getting Aguero fit will also be key.

We'd have to very unlucky to have a season like we had last season with injuries

I expect Chelsea to start as favourites with the bookies after their signings, but I think they may have a problem in central defence. Terry is getting on, as is Ivanovic, and no one knows whether Zouma will be OK.

I expect Arsenal to be City's strongest opponents because of Ramsey. Sanchez is a great signing too. They'll start to believe

But City won the League last season with a lot of bad luck with injuries, Hart losing it, and with the team taking 2 months to adapt away from home under the new manager.

The most important question is are the players up for it. They weren't in 2012-13. You could tell from the first game to the FA Cup final. Manager is key

Keep the current squad motivated and with the additions we have made then yes we are good enough to win the title.

Definitely it's good enough.

But you could say the same of other teams too and I'd be amazed if it wasn't very very tight once again, probably more so than last season in fact.

We *can* win it, but whether we will, will doubtless depend on good/bad luck (we don't need another striker injured!) and whether we can get off to a good start with what is a very tough opening 5 or 6 games.

If not City then who else?

If you go through the other teams you can find weaknesses in them all. You can't find a weakness in city's squad. This Summer's transfer spending may have been low profile, but assuming Mangala signs, and is as good as claimed, then the holes have been filled.

Arsenal

A bit short on defensive cover if Vermaelen is sold. Short up front too, even with Sanchez signing. Giroud has stayed fit for a long time, but they look exposed to injuries up front. And as yet they still don't have a defensive midfielder of any note

Chelsea

Not sure about Costa. And with Luiz gone who partners Cahill?

Liverpool

Lost Suarez and I think they punched way above their weight last season

Utd

Will need to make a couple of defensive signings to cover loss of Vidic, Evra and Rio, and with the other signings, I think they will find that too disruptive to handle
