Is This True?

I don't think we have the turnover still (for FFPR) to justify world class 1st team and 'european class' backups for each position. I think Bobby will be told to get a couple of genuine first teamers and reduce our backup costs (and use them less). Very few teams have (or can afford) our strength in depth and we probably can't also as well as meet FFPR, that may change later but for a couple of years we may need to cut our costs.

My estimates would be:

RSC, Bridge, Kolo and MJ as mentioned must be on a combined £300-£350k/week - that's £15.6m - £18m/year.

I think we could end up losing some of
Kolarov - replace with cheaper youngster
Lescott - if he goes will be replaced with top CB so no change
and one of our 4 high earning forwards - cheaper youngster again.

Could be another £10-£12m there, £7-8m for a forward and a few £mill for Kola

Potentially knocking £30m off our wage bill (depending on who they bring in as replacements). .

Wouldn't mind seeing the young Southampton left back in for Kolarov if he leaves, Luke Shaw, very bright prospect.

So, does anyone know if our big owners are making money off of this club? Wouldn't want them to lose money investing so much money into the club!

long term the money will flow back to the owner, but so far its all one way money traffic to us.
however, the owner is being pad back in another way currently, and thats through raising the profile of him and his kingdom - so everyone is happy at the moment.

The thing is, I don't think Sheikh Mansour is particularly bothered whether City are profitable at the monent. He has countless other businesses that will be raking him mega money in. City is the biggest way that his name is recognised of the lot with the popularity of football worldwide, and he can use City as his advertising/marketing tool for his own name and all his other businesses. The more money he invests in City, the bigger and more popular City get, the more he'll be earning in all his other businesses because they will all be growing due to his name being marketing wider through City.

Yes one day we'll become a profitable organisation ourselves, it would be silly not to get to that position. But right now it's not particularly important because its not realistic that we can be.

Kolo, Bridge, Johnson, RSC, Wright on a free

Maicon, Kolarov, Sinclair, Lescott, Dzeko, Boyata and Balotelli will be the big earners leaving imo

Plus a lot of older EDS players will leave on a free like McGivern and Nimely

At the moment the squad is just massively unbalanced and has to many average players which are not being used and bloating the wage bill.

Sorriano and Txiki Begiristain have experience with this type of clearout in Peps first year a lot of high earners like Ronaldinho, Deco and Zambrotta left being replaced with the likes of Pique and Dani Alves.

Signed a new contract I think, we were heavily linked with him along with Arsenal last year.

Doubt Maicon will be leaving, didn't he sign a 3 year deal?! Plus I can't see both Dzeko and Balotelli leaving, unless we bring Guardiola in, in which case I can see quite a few first team players leaving that don't fit into his style- Garcia, Barry, Dzeko, Balotelli, Sinclair, Lescott, Milner, and perhaps Nasri
