Looks like we are being accused of underhand maneuvering..

From the Scottish Sun
CELTIC have issued a 'hands off' warning for Islam Feruz amid fears that megabucks Manchester City are trying to nab the 15-year-old Somalian wonderkid.

SunSport understands Feruz was whisked away by City officials after flying into Manchester with the rest of the Scotland Under-17s squad 12 days ago.

We can reveal that Hoops chiefs did NOT give the go-ahead for the gifted teenager to meet with the Eastlands club after his return following the squad's double header in Malta.

Now the Hoops hierarchy - who have Feruz under contract until the summer of 2015 - are believed to be raging at the secret get-together.

And they have been exploring their rights to table an official protest if they get concrete proof of City's behaviour.

Feruz is not yet old enough to pen a fully-fledged employment contract.

But the Hoops do have him on a signed youth form and a new three-year extension which would give them some power to block any potential moves.

However a loophole in legislation could, in theory, allow the Premier League giants to cherrypick Feruz for a knockdown compensation fee of no more than £300,000.

Losing Feruz, the first player to be capped by Scotland under the new five-year education rule, would be a MASSIVE blow to the Hoops.

They helped his asylum-seeking family stay in Glasgow after fleeing Somalia to escape violence and poverty in 2001.

They were saved from being deported when the late Tommy Burns, below - then Celtic's head of youth - lobbied government officials.

Feruz, spotted by Hoops scout John Simpson in a kickabout at Castle-milk Sports Centre, made his first senior outing for the Hoops in Burns' memorial game in 2009.

You can't tie a child (and at 15 that's what he is) to a contract, unfortunate for Celtic, but true. His "youth contract" isn't all that relevant if City offer him professional terms once he's old enough to sign them.

Lets face it, if we want him, and he wants to come, then it'll happen regardless of what Celtic want. We'll just have to compensate them, and this "loophole" isn't any such think, it's called complying with the existing legislation.

Yep - that's exactly the same trick the Arse are always pulling on Barca - happened with Fabregas and Fran Merida, and now they've just done it to them again with a kid called Ignasi Miquel.

Those are the rules, and there's very little the nurturing club can do about it as it stands.

Somalian wonderkid? LOL... :D No offence but it sounds a bit hilarious.
Less of the racial stereotyping please. We already have a Somali wonderkid on our books. <a class="postlink" href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdisalam_Ibrahim" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abdisalam_Ibrahim</a>
