Middle East Conflict

It’s the best thing that they can do, and for Hezbollah as well. Any forces within the area will bring huge civilian casualties, and destruction of many properties, as that’s where Israel will want to cause maximum effect.
Bomb innocent civilians, destroy homes, then wonder why there are "terrorists", in order to justify bombing more innocent civilians and destroy homes.

When they talk about a ground invasion, people think of infantry soldiers running through the streets of Lebanon, finding Hezbollah fighters and taking them out. The reality is, Israel will use indiscriminate indirect fire to clear areas before using overwhelming force in the form of armour that will drive straight through civilian areas.

Everybody can understand why Israel would want to protect themselves, but causing utter devastation for huge populations is abhorrent.

Hostages ................ none are held in Lebanon
Hey, you're talking about "Northern Galilee"...

Uri Tzafon, named for a biblical verse literally meaning “awaken, O North,” was founded in late March with the goal of demanding not only war and reoccupation but also Israeli civilian settlements in southern Lebanon. The group, which has amassed a following of several thousand, argues that settling Lebanon is both a pragmatic necessity—a way to “grant true and stable security to northern Israel,” according to its official WhatsApp channel—as well as part of a messianic quest to “reclaim” territory that falls within the biblical boundaries of Land of Israel. “The Israeli-Lebanese border is a ridiculous colonial border,” Eliyahu Ben Asher, a founding member of Uri Tzafon, told me, building on previous statements arguing that “what is called ‘southern Lebanon’ . . . is really and truly simply the northern Galilee.”

Fucking hell, do Sky pay people to talk shit? Don’t know who she is but turns every question into ‘Israel is right to do this’.

Can somebody please ask these people if it is legal to kill so many non-combatants, and infrastructure? As Israel have told us, they’ve already taken out all of the commanders, where’s the need to kill civilians. Missile up a child’s arse?

Will check and come back to you but think they took out a dozen terrorists including Nasrallah. Don’t think generations of families were wiped out. Aren’t you happy that the leader of a terrorist organisation can no longer function. People in Lebanon, Syria, Israel etc are all celebrating, I wonder why. Were you happy when Bin Laden was killed?

I think any sane person would have welcomed targeted strikes taking out the leaders of the organisations that were responsible for the October attack, or are taking advantage of it. But it's too late now. That isn't the issue any more. The issue is everything else that has been going on in Gaza and why.

Netanyahu isn't going to get much support from sane people for following what would have been a sane strategy after the insanity he has unleashed on Gaza.

And you are doing the "happy someone was killed" thing again. Anyone who is happy anyone, and I mean anyone, is killed is a ****. You can be relieved, you can feel a sense of justice, you can feel sad that it was necessary for safety, many emotions. But happy? Just makes you (and I mean "one", not you personally, unless, of course, you are happy) a ****.

Doesn’t matter now as the genie is out the lamp and now Isreal will this though to totally wipe out hamas and hezzbollah and even take out Iran nuclear facilities.

Can't be done without totally wiping out (ie genocide) or, at least, displacing (ie ethnic cleansing) all the Palestinians and the Lebanese. Although, if that was your genie, I may agree with you.

And nuclear facilities can be rebuilt.

More worrying is that a lot of people think this is okay, the mental gymnastics used on this thread to justify things is off the scale.
