Istanbul CL Final chaos | City Matters statement (p 133)

I’m still hopeful :-)
Level Playing Field and The Evening News are supposedly pressing the Club for their comments. I think it’s losing traction now though after 2 weeks.

They aren't arsed mate. If we were one of the corporates suffering a similar fate they'd be all over it. Us peasants in the trenches are just disposable cannon fodder. As much as we'd like to believe we're more valued than that we aren't.

I think Blue Mist was implying are they actively trying to get everybody's experiences... which they're not. It's us trying to find a voice to anybody that'll listen. So they're just waiting for it to blow over.

Martin Samuel might be a good person to contact. Isn't as anti-City as the rest and quite good at pointing the finger at those who are really to blame.

I asked why the club had not reached our to fans. You said you'd emailed them. That wasn't what I asked.
Again, have City acknowledged we suffered like cattle, have they asked for our experiences so they could speak to Uefa, have they done anything since Insta to support us ?

I'm going out on a limb here and saying that the answer is a big fat no.

Agree mate. I think even some blues aren’t arsed now, that’s what I mean about losing traction. After 2 weeks, people starting to forget about it now and remembering the result rather than the shite that surrounded the event. Me though, I can’t forget it, I was stranded on a car park made of rubble, in my wheelchair for almost 2 hours.

The club should be forced to do something the more emails that are sent the more likely they are to respond

Has Kevin Parker and the supporters reps had anything to say?

From a City Matters point of view Alex asked for feedback and we got plenty of emails. As I'm sure you can appreciate it's taken a while to go through it and categorise everything. We're in the process of drafting a proper report using general and more specific feedback. I think it's a really important topic and doing it properly is important. We're not just going to let it drop.

You went above and beyond there, brilliant what you did for those 2 elderly fans, top man.
Well thanks but I reckon most would've done same in the circumstances. As it happened it helped me a lot, I was struggling my own self esteem as I'd gone out there with no ticket and no expectations of getting one, ended up being gifted one by a group of online 'friends', all blues who I'd never met but known online for 10yrs, most of who have posted, or still do post on here. It's another very long story that I won't bore you with but suffice to say I was very very humbled, it brought me to tears as it happens.
So to meet those 2 ladies presented me with the opportunity to pay it forward (as they say), we had the most difficult of journeys to get to the stadium, a real adventure, I could only admire them for travelling over there, let alone the way they were prepared to just crack on when having to stand on the Metros, think we used 5 different trams in all.
Once at the stadium we were at the wrong end (obviously), I managed to commandeer one of those electric buggies to take us to our end, them inside it and me on the back facing back like a rear gunner, great feeling as we wove our way through all the Milan fans.

As for after the game, can't deny thinking/worrying about how they would fare getting on those busses but there was no way I could've found them. So I managed to blag my way into a posh limo with 2 Swedish Blues,(thanks fellas if you read this by any chance) felt pleased as punch with myself sat in the big leather seat, aircon on, I'd be in the city before everybody, no. Just as the driver was ready to roll there was a knock on the window, yep you've guessed it, my 2 ladies had spotted me, in a crowd of 20k, in a blacked out limo (with the interior light still on), 5 seconds later that light would've been off and that would've been it, amazing sliding doors moment really.
Anyway, as hard as I pleaded the driver wouldn't let me load them in, I couldn't leave them could I, so bailed out and we hunted for some space on a bus, my work wasn't complete.

You couldn't script my trip to Istanbul, everyone has a story but mine is up there with the best of them imo, I wouldn't change a minute of it, of course there were negatives regarding organisation but sometimes you have to suffer for the cause, getting piss wet through on the Witton End circa 77, getting nicked twice in one day at Everton, getting run out of the Gallowgate End and missing 2/3rds of the game, watching David fucking Pleat dancing on our pitch in his stupid shoes after they put us down, the list is endless but we keep going, why do we do it?
I feel privileged to have been there to see us lift the big one, there was a time when many of us thought we'd never see another trophy, let alone the fucking European Cup, well we did it and I was there, fucking brilliant!!!!

Have you received a reply off either yet mate?

I emailed Alex from City Matters, the FSE or whatever it was and the gentleman on here that left his email who was meeting with Burnham and some high profile figures. Don't know whether it's worth sending it to anybody else.
That was me. I have received a number of emails from people on here and forwarded them to Andy's office as advised. I have responded to people to let them know, although one person's email address wouldn't work for some reason. The meeting will be midweek.

Must have been mine as I didn't get a reply.
