Istanbul revisit

Bağdat Caddesi on the Asian side is worth a visit. Bizarrely, it feels more Westernised than the European side, but is home to some decent bars and restaurants, and parallel to a nice seaside promenade where you can sample some great ice cream.

Ferry boat along the Bosporous to the Black Sea.

Gallipoli, day trip.

Much further away, Trabzon (old Trebizond), need a couple of days.

Efes is one of the worst lagers I've ever had. Turks cook some great food but their beers and wines are terrible. And as for Raki.... : /

I don’t drink Guinness here but I love it in Ireland. Ditto Efes in Turkey.

Fair enough, but when I went to Turkey 3 times in the 90s, Efes was the only lager available, and I got sick of it.
