Looking at getting M4 metro from SAW to Ayrilik Cesmari then B1 train to Sirkeci. Seems much quicker than going by road. Is that a good idea?

We got here Wednesday so we could get all the tourist stuff out of the way. (If you are planning to go to Aya Sophia, go after 5pm no queue and walk right in.) Get used to 'how are you my friend?' when walking round...shops, bars, tourist guides will try and entice you to part with cash. And cats...millions of 'em everywhere. They come begging when you are eating alfresco!

Looking at getting M4 metro from SAW to Ayrilik Cesmari then B1 train to Sirkeci. Seems much quicker than going by road. Is that a good idea?

We got metro to Taksim yesterday, was fine once we got the istanbulkart which was a bit of an issue. You need to buy the card first for 50TL then authenticate it on the machine then top it up, each ride no matter the distance is about 10TL which is peanuts really considering length of journey.

yesss. best way...or go to kadıkoy, last stop, and take boat to karakoy or eminonu...

Can you not use contactless card instead?
