It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

Out of interest, why are people so confident about Cambiasso now?
Think because it seems Juventus are willing to sell and we seem to want him. Whether it means a price can be agreed looks the only obstacle. May depend how much Juventus need the money as to how much they will drop the asking price.

I wouldn't be racing to the bookies to lump on him signing but it does seem like the type of deal that gets done. The player has made noises about wanting to move to us and it feels like a compromise could be reached on price.

If Leverkusen feel like he'd be a suitable replacement for Wirtz, then I'd say they should value him at £55m at least...
Sky sports were yesterday mooting a loan deal with a 20m buy clause in the summer. To Leverkusen. Where they got that figure from though, who knows.

anyone looking at Rodri first season. With us wouldn’t have gone near him and even our own fan base thought he wasn’t upto it . One bad season doesn’t make you bad .
Of course.

But we didn't go for him while he was at Villa, when he was available in the summer, or now as a permanent signing. So it is not that crazy to conclude we don't see him as a long term target. I'd love him on loan for the rest of the season, and would also have no issue with him on a permanent deal whether now or via an obligation. But if the club wanted that, it would have happened by now.

Hence, the Phillips comparison is a bit off, which is what my response ultimately was to.

Are they? The claims out there right or wrong seem to he saying the opposite.
I’ve had two people text me today saying they’ve heard he’s on his way and had I heard anything.

I no longer have any “ins” so hear fuck all, don’t even have twatter anymore.

Fuck it, we need a midfielder!

It sounds like we are willing to pay for Cambiasso, so if that deal doesn't work out why not just spend £30m on Luiz?
It's not that much really and if it works out then great everyone's happy, if not get rid in the summer!
Once bitten twice shy,

City would be right to be very cautious about another flop. Looking at our business so far this month we look to be targeting hot prospects and very talented players just before their prime with a clean bill of health.

Well now you've gone and done it!

wouldn't say many here were confident he was on his way, but now watch the bravado come.

Till Saturday at least when some journo tweers we are still considering exploring the option.

The people that text me today are not in the know, as far as I’m aware.

I’d assumed some ITK had tweeted something.

Simon Mullock published an article yesterday afternoon saying the clubs were close to an agreement and that a deal would be thrashed out in the coming days.

2-3 hours later he retracted that and said that it was more likely to happen in the summer.

Maybe the people who texted you went off that info?

Think anymore business depends on if we win tonight.

If we don’t, one game a week is a hell of a lot more manageable for the current squad.

Go through - we need a midfielder
