yeah, doubt any of the wingers mentioned on BM so far are actually bought, each for there own reasons tbh.

I don't even get why we're chasing him. He's a kid who doesn't score or assist much but is pretty in the 3rd ball. That's just Savinho. Maybe his contract is out or he's cheap or something, I don't know.

Prob just scouting in general most likely. Wouldnt think too much into links right now, we'll be looking at plan A,B,C,D,E and boxing off due diligence for any outcome. As well as agents just using our rebuild to get guys name checked for new deals or other moves.

He's one step further than scouting as I understand it. The "deepdive" I mentioned is them talking to old coaches and teachers and friends and stuff. So it's more likely that he's made the "final shortlist" so to speak. They're vetting him.

I meant all that for now, any name at this stage is on the 'to be vetted' just in case.

Would be a shame to see McAtee go after he stayed last Summer to prove his worth. Think he’s a brilliant player and will shine elsewhere. His movement, finishing and composure will stand him in good stead somewhere else.

Thought I saw recently that they were allegedly interested in Ortega as well, but I don't think letting him go along with Ederson in the same window is feasible.
 
I dont see Simons as an alternative to Wirtz really.. if Wirtz doesnt come I think it will be another more pure creator. Needs crazy stats for that. McAtee probably feels he can go cos he already experienced lower level PL and I dont think he really suited that.

That’s the whole point of these Twitter ITKs—to drive engagement, even if it’s just the same recycled stuff. Very few of them are actually legit. Most are just gossip merchants. This past January window proved that—only a handful actually had real info.
