It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

The figures I quoted are across all his games. Him not being used during the injury crisis/form crisis is Pep's decision - just like McAtee not getting game time in favour of having an aging, legless midfield. The fact Pep doesn't trust him is reason enough for him to move on - no point him being in the squad - but I don't think it's right to say he hasn't turned a corner. He's been played as a winger, got assists & goals and not really been used in his normal position
We'll agree to disagree, I don't think he's turned a corner at all, I was hoping he would make a really good impact this season and it hasn't been the case, Realistically he's nowhere near good enough.

Says its all that he can't get in the central midfield role and yet we are crying out for midfielders.

More than likely he'll be moved on in the summer.

He played LB while he's a right-footed central midfielder. This is the point I was making about being trusted by Pep - he hasn't trusted him to be able to play centrally. Hard for Nunes to turn a corner as a midfielder when he's not played as a midfielder.
Lewis has played left back numerous times and is right footed, not sure what the point is?

Every time he’s played there he’s looked way off! What do you want Pep to do? Just keep playing him there even though he’s never had a good game for us in the middle?

Hes had more opportunities than someone like McAtee.

Lewis is a full back - Nunes is a right-footed midfielder and it was his first game as a fullback. It's quite evident what the point was.

He's played 3 minutes as CM in the league this season. Again, it's hard for him to turn a corner or develop as a midfielder when he hasn't been played as one. It's been Pep's decision not to play him midfield, and instead persist with Kovacic, Gundo & Bernardo - none of whom have been great. How many opportunities have they had this season to show what they aren't capable of anymore? I'm not advocating for Nunes to stay or stating that he's our saviour but it's daft to lump him with Philips.

To be fair, as much as I don’t rate Nunes, you are right about one thing. There’s absolutely no excuse that he didn’t get minutes in place of Gundo, it’s actually impossible to have been worse.
