Or maybe it's because we would need 10 players in summer to bring and that is not easy also we are spending budget from last summer now in january and there is world club cup in june so now is good time to bring new players.

I also expect at least 5 new players in summer to we sign.

My only concern about this Marmoush deal is where do we play him. We're stacked in the wide positions so can he be used as a central attacking mid as he's not replacing Erling up top. Will he end up being an Alvarez type signing, playing games here and there?

If we don't sign anyone = We're doomed, we've lost the case, players don't want to come because of the 115.

If we sign players = We're doomed, getting ahead of the game before being punished.

Maybe I'm a glass half full kind of guy, but our recent actions don't seem like those of a club expecting heavy transfer sanctions coming their way.

or maybe its good management and signing players that we absolutely desperately need in the positions we absolutely need them in.

We didnt replace alvarez and bobb is only just getting back which accounts for marmoush
Stones is NEVER fit which accounts for khusanov
Ake and akanji are the wrong side of 30 and have been struggling with injury which accounts for Reis
Walker is going which accounts for the possible cambiasso signing

I know it is de rigueur on this forum to be pessimistic as a rule but let me thrown a massive logic bomb in there and say its being smart at a time when we need to be, we should have done this in the summer but we couldnt have accounted for injuries etc this season and it was a mistake not too, but thats why pencils have erasers so we can sort out the mistakes.

we may be stacked in the wide positions BUT 2 out of the four we play in the wide positions would be way better suited to play in the middle in bernie and phil so that leaves savinho, doku and bobb when he comes back, doku is a great prospect but hit and miss, savinho looks like hes growing into the role but still has work to do and bobb will need to be eased back into the team, so he is cover for all them, plus kdb cant go and do 2 or 3 games in a week so he will have plenty of chances in the middle too.

We have been awful going forward all season . He plays ahead of everyone .

I don't follow the French League or Serie A, nor indeed Brazilian football. But until 3 weeks ago I'd not heard of any of these players.
So people comparing this with the Yaya, Silva transfer window are wide of the mark.

That being said Marmoush looks some player.
