It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

Yea but everyone wins. The players got paid and won. The club got huge commercial contracts and won.

The injury and age problems is certainly highlighted more with a small squad. The time to strengthen was defo after the treble. That didn’t mean going out and spending millions necessarily. Palmer, Morgan should have been involved more. It’s a mistake and timing issue. No on is perfect and we got it wrong.

Now let’s put it right with some top signings over the summer.
At the time Palmer & Rogers needed first team football, they were way down the pecking order at City & would've blocked the paths of Lewis & Bobb.

That was then. Because of our current situation, both would be of use now. It was just a case of bad timing & the stars not aligning.

Wirtz is the player we really must break the bank for. My thoughts on the Chelsea game was that we looked far less effective when KDB replaced Moose, & last night King Kev looked absolutely fucked after 60 minutes, & looked like he was wading through treacle.

We have to replace him with a top class operator & the closest I've seen to KDB is Wirtz. Wanting him & getting him are two different things.
"Wanting him & getting him are two different things."

Make it happen, make a statement like with Haaland's contract.

The only issue is Bayern, they have very close links with his family but if that happens maybe Musiala is ours.

A 12 month extension with a club option for another 12 months would give us time to find & bed in Kev's successor, whilst he'd still be an excellent option from the bench with fresh midfield legs around him.

That’s mental. Love the guy to bits but that should be a club decision.

He’s on enormous wages and is one bad injury away from being done.

Morgan Rogers isn’t a loyal player. He’s in it to maximise himself and fair play to him.

He’ll likely move from Villa inside a couple of years, unless they challenge properly for things.

If he continues his rapid rise, he’ll be able to pick his next club.

Doku has always been hit and miss, same with Ake and stones so we did know on a few players.

I honestly have no complaints. All this blame game leads to know where. We didn’t act decisive enough and got some decisions wrong. The club is trying to fix it now which is all we can ask.

I’m trying to enjoy the rebuild. It’s easier said than done watching the games tho but that’s just emotions.
Sorry mate and as much as I agree with most of your posts I have to take umbridge ref your comment about Ake being "hit and miss".
He has been one of our most consistent defensive performers by a long stretch.
Yes he`s has some injuries but the lad never lets us down,

The respect & love the club has for him has afforded him the honour of being able to choose his own path. I think KDB knows & accepts he'll be more a bit part player, filling in where necessary & helping the younger players to reach their potential. He'd be like an outfield version of Scott Carson.

Where I really respect KDB is he's apparently delayed his decision as he only wishes to remain if he can stay fit & perform at the highest level. If an understanding can be made, I'd be happy for him to remain & even join our coaching staff with Gundog.

I thought we were looking to bring in a midfielder—so what does this mean? Are we done with signings?
