It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

Reportedly €60m, but there's complications in that Barça have a 40% sell on clause, which Porto can reduce to 20% for an €8m fee to the Catalans. Also, Barça have a €30m buy back clause which becomes active this summer.

I think the haggling's been over the best way to structure the deal so Porto maximise their net sale return. Hopefully we've reached an agreement that suits all parties.
Ok, some juggling going on then.

so Txiki doing one last time of offering below RC clause and then offering the RC clause which would have speed up the deal a week ago too...

We don't know that. The media aren't likely getting blow by blow information on the negotiation. I would never assume a deal got slowed down by the negotiation tactics of Txiki.

Would be interesting to know the reasoning behind waiting until the last day of the window before activating his release clause when we could have done it on the first day, especially since we have been in urgent need of reinforcements for months. My suspicion is that we are not entirely convinced about him being good enough but we had run out of options and needed to do something.

With that said, I obviously dont know and regardless I hope it works out!

So it isn't exactly the same but I can only take comparisons from my career role. I work in payments and the average deal from introduction to closure for us in 3 months. The majority of this is because, as keen as the buyer/seller is, their communication is usually garbage.
Most of the deals we could close within 2-3 weeks are stretched out because people have other aspects of their job roles and are not solely focused on us.

Could be the case here?

I would say he was not our first choice. That's why the delay. Maybe our first choice was Éderson. But who knows truly, what's going on behind the scenes?

We are a pretty good team for 70 minutes of games on the whole - but we fall away badly in the final quarter and that has cost us in a lot of games. Its generally the result of the midfield (Kovacic in particular) running out of steam.
So it's Peps job to use all 5 subs to cover tiredness. He knows the fitness of the team he picks but bizarrely
believes that it's more disruptive to our game plan to substitute knackered players !
We need Gundo as an assistant coach to put him right !
Can't believe how many bad decisions Pep has made this season with the phenomenal record he has with us in previous seasons !
