He's born and raised in Lyon so most of his bad influences will be left there and he's Muslim so doesn't drink. I don't mind arrogance on the pitch, all great players have it. Seems to come from a decent family, his parents are together. I don't think he will be a problem. It's hard to act the prick when you don't speak the language and are surrounded by people like Pep, Haaland, Rodri and Dias. I don't have any concerns about him off the pitch. We don't have any French speaking bad apples to lead him astray like that tosser Mendy anymore.

Looks incredibly gifted and ready to make that jump to the next level. I like the look of him a lot. We need that fearless creative energy in our team.

and worringly only two of those are at the level where they could make an immediate postive difference - Wirtz and Baena

Trincao is a level below what is required and continuing are poor recruitment by following on from the likes of Nunes - he is a dribbler/ball carrier but not a player with the final pass/cross etc

Nypan is young - talented but would need time
Cherki - definitely not convinced by him - skilled dribbler but we have those...we need to replace Gundo and KDB and he aint that type of player - plus the potential attitude problem......there is no guarnatee Pep would iron that out.....look at Cancello for starters.
Diomande - physically very good....is he technically good enough? - particularly his forward passing. Could be a great signing but also can he step up the level? - wouldnt be against it

He probably doesn't drink. In any case, I don't care if he does or does not. If he does, that's between him and his god. As long as he does it responsibly it's not an issue to me.

But as I said in a thread earlier on.....we are looking to replace the quality of prime Gundo, Kdb, Bernardo and even the likes of David Silva and Yaya and ferna......do any of these players come close to that quality or even do they have the potential......Wirtz for me certainly does.....Baena looks a good shout as well that he could reach that level - but thats it from the ones mentioned....

The rebuild is much bigger than people are ready to believe....Rico Lewis, Kovacic, Nunes, Phillips have all been asked to replace that quality mentioned from the players above.....they dont even come close...not by a mile and you the drop off is there fore all to see....Can Nico Gonzales step up? He has looked decent so far BUT there is a long way between decent and prime Ferna for instance.

We also need to replace Kyle Walker - I think many people are forgetting (due to how quickly he dropped off) how vital Walker was and how good he was...he was the only fullback to every shut down Mbappe, Neymar etc on a regular basis - again replacing him with Rico Lewis and expecting that to be good enough is just absurd - Khusonov has done ok but he is a centre half and while he has walkers pace he doesnt have the technical ability from a wider position going forward (and for waker this was his weakest point at the height of his power).
You could argue we also need a left back - Gvardiol and Ake are both centre halves and while both can fill in there (Ake is done physically as well) we need a proper left back (how long have we been saying this now!!)

Livarmento - very good but injury prone already - and would be hugely expensive
Frimpong - not great defensively
Robinson (fulham) - would costa fortune
Cambiaso - think this is one we will end up with as it was seemingly close in January

I agree we need a creative attacking KDB or Silva replacement, wouldn’t say deep lying myself. I’m only expecting one full back too.After a keeper not expecting much more than that to add to the 5 from January. possibly another midfielder.

disagree about cherki. He closely resembles neymar's style of play which was massively creative. Cherki would create so many assists with his style of play. Hes very good with the quick short passes like merlin. not sure about his long passing.

Found out why no one goes near Cherki, last summer he had agreed a deal to go PSG it was all done ready to sign the contract , then his entourage didn’t show up to talks and instead said Dortmund were offering more money and wages for a winter transfer and then according to Dortmund fans the same situation happened in January. His entourage used the excuse that the Lyon chairman didn’t want to do the deal for the agreed fee.

So in both scenarios it’s his entourage that is causing tension during any sort of negotiation

maybe he just hates psg and wanted to fuck with them. which i can get behind.

Filling them up with sub par players could hinder us when attempting to bring in foreign players down the line. That's one of my first signings and it seems livramento and Wharton are the highest rated younger lads out there.

Potential to be those prime level players will be the targets, anything else is just fantasy imo. the players dont exist.

Saving money for English players is what worries me.....most are hugely overrated and certainly over priced - Grealish is a huge example of this....to a lesser extent Kalvin Phillips. The next big thing is Wharton but he could turn out to be another Jack Rodwell. Livramento is decent but already injury prone to an extent
