It’s Quiet 20 - What is the Wirtz that could happen?

Agree, but my theory for that is that he looks much better with Stonesy beside him. And when he played on the left it was usually to accomodate Stones.

Prime and fit John Stones is in my opinion the best centre-half we have ever had and is a dream to play with for any partner
Agreed and it's remarkable the number of partners Stones has improved over the years.

Dias also gets to play the 'nutter' next to the classy centre half partner when Stones is playing (in the classic sense of a CB partnership)

Weren't we linked with Pedro Porro a few weeks ago?

That stadium they built is going to end up doing the same thing the Emirates did to Arsenal, but on a bigger scale, and put them on the periphery for a good 10 years at least.

Come off it, O'Reilly is a great kid who adds a lot to our attack. He's playing out of position at left back and it definitely shows. Ake is no slouch though and he's definitely our best left back defensively. Struggled this season with injury, which he was clearly playing with for quite a long time, but to say O'Reilly is streets ahead is over the top
Oreilly is already streets ahead of Ake so I doubt it
Ake is probably the best 1v1 defender we have ever had. If you want someone to face Sallad it is him. O’Reilly is a great talent and really good on the ball. He will get found out from time to time against top quality wingers. It could have been a tougher day yesterday had Elanga started for example.

Ok Juanma. How many seasons has Pep used the same system?

He changes it every year.
System is irrelevant.

In every system that has a widest left CB in possession, Pep prefers a left footed one.

In the past when Dias starts there, in possession he doesnt end there, because Pep knows thats not a good idea.

Thats the point.

O'Reilly has been a revelation but he ain't a LB and you disrespect Ake, he after an ordinary start has been superb in our shirt, his only issue is his injury record.
I don't disrespect anyone . If you put the packages together o'reilly is already ahead. Composure on the ball, injury record etc . He could be sold as far as I'm concerned

One of Stones or Ake will surely go this summer?

Doubt it mate with their injury records and salaries.

Stones is on £250k a week and Ake £160k a week.

Stones only has one more year left and I think he will see out his deal and go on a free. Ake has 2 years left.

Ake might leave but he is a bit of a forgotten man at City this year, a lot of people have forgot he exists.

HG status too.

Very simply, if Stones or Akanji go, we are relatively fine since we bought Khusanov, Reis and eventually Bah to cover there.

If Ake goes, we HAVE to buy.

I suspect he stays though, so ultimately nothing to talk about here.

'System is irrelevant'. From the person who brought up Pep's system in the first place.

Talking shite pal.

Fact of the matter. When Stones and Dias are fit, Dias plays LCB and has done since he joined. End of discussion.

I did read that Bah has been told that there will be opportunities for him at City next season. If that is the case, we will have Nunes, Rico, Stones, Akanji, Dias, Khusanov, Reis, Bah, Gvardiol, Ake, and O'Reilly. I don't think that 11 is a realistic number of defenders, and that's without anyone coming in.
