It could be worse....

The Chelsea score doesn't give me a crumb of comfort. In the same way that Norwich's results don't either.

For various reasons, the dynamic of the Premier League has shifted manifestly this season.

Personally, I love it. It isn't the most technical league by a long stretch, but as a spectacle and an 'entertainment product' it is utterly peerless.

Teams are taking points off each other all over the place. There has always been a greater preponderance towards this in the Premier League, but this season it's gone into overdrive.

To expect our team, with all the injuries we have sustained, to be immune from all that is asking too much imo. Some of our supporters expect too much and are invariably disappointed with some frequency.

I'm just glad we've got major billing at the greatest sporting show on earth.

I agree with you to a certain extent. It's brilliant to see Leicester 2 points ahead at the top of the table in December and for Bournemouth to win at the Champions. Of course it's all related to the TV money being more fairly apportioned here than in other countries, which enables Stoke to field players like Shakiri, Bojan and Arnautovic for example.

However I also think this means having the best manager possible is paramount. Hopefully we will resolve this next summer, hoping in the meantime our best players regain their fitness and keep it.

There are some miserable bastards on here.I have ranted on other threads about some of our performances of late and the manager and sure what other clubs do doesn't lesson the pain, but Chelsea's plight is bringing a smile to my face.

i expected chelsea spurs and the dark side all to win today so small crumbs and all that

Exactly that! Chelsea being so arrogant with a manager that if he was chocolate would eat himself struggling so badly and doing worse than us,when all the experts chose them to win everything, is a bigger crumb of comfort and makes our plight seem more bearable.

Who give's a fuck about how other clubs are doing. In no way does that make our shambolic performances of late any easier to take.
Correct. If we take care of business, the others can go and worry about their own performances. I got very little pleasure out of that Chelsea result this evening.

I'm just slightly concerned that it is gonna get worse!!!

Me too. Beating Southampton last week may have masked our form for a few people but anyone at the game knows we rode our luck,we were hanging on for grim death until our third goal deflated them.

We have been sussed out big time and nobody fears us anymore. Our only hope is to get our first choice eleven onto the pitch as the back up's just aren't good enough.

i want to defer a little bit. Even without Komps and other stars, if we get our tactics right, we'd have enough to beat most teams (including the one we lost to today). yes, we'll beat them even if its going to be rough and tough in large spells in these matches, as was the case last week. I dont know why Pellers missed this: delph was going to be vital in protecting poor kolarov but he obviously had "better" ideas. against southampton, is it coincidental that the same demi and otto were able to hold their own last week but could have conceeded as many as 7 today (not saying there were no nervous moments, but these were reduced to the barest minimum and of course you wouldn't expect southampton to sit on their asses when 2-0 down)

I don't think that it's particularly down to tactics. Sometimes when things aren't going our way, we lack effort and mental fortitude.
Ie, it's about time we learnt to roll our fucking sleeves up and make things happen rather than waiting for them to happen.

I got a huge fuckin hard on when Bournemouth scored as maureen, their fans and their horrible **** of a team thought they was gonna dominate English football for the next decade after last season.
Seeing them get beat is very quickly catching up with the nice warm glow in get upon hearing the rags draw or lose.

There's the issue of mentality buddy, as
you rightly pointed out, but this should
not gloss over deficiencies on the tactical end
