If we want top four this is the type of game we need to take 3 points in. Be typical city to go to Bolton and lose after beating Chelsea. I reckon we can do it though. Villa are at skum so i can see them losing only trouble is spuds have Wolves at home.

I would go with the following line up at Bolton...

Given

Micah
Toure
Lescott
Sylvinho

SWP
Nige
Tevez
Barry
Bellers

Adebayor

SUBS: Binho, Ned, Jonno, Weiss, RSC, Kompany, Ireland.

Given

Richards/Zab (Depending on injury)
Toure
Lescott
Barry

SWP
Kompany
De Jong
Robinho

Tevez
Adebayor

That would be my line up. Could replace Kompany with Ireland for a bit more creativity.

I agree. Except I'd do it the other way round and start with Ireland, with the option of bringing Kompany on if we need close the game out.

I think that this game, paradoxically, will be as big a test as the last two. The Trotters Arms are currently nineteenth. We have previous history suffering at the hands of teams we should dominate. And the mass media are waiting for another stumble. Go for it City, and take an easy three points, make it look easy.

beat bolton, hopefully spuds drop points against Wolves but i doubt it, then beat spuds, then we have both sunderland and stoke at home, 2 games we should win, then wolves away which won't be easy, we should be at least in the top 7 come new year.

Don't you just love our squad though! So many options, and we can actually deal with injuries! Against Chelsea, we are without Ireland and Bellamy, so what do we do? Bring in De Jong and Robinho! Pmsl. It's unreal. We also have Vladi Weiss to come back from tonsilitis. Petrov is now back. Johnson and Santa Cruz are gaining fitness. We have Kompany, Onuoha, Zabaleta and Sylvinho to cover for defensive injuries, and we will therefore not be affected too much by Bridge's injury (and Micah's if he doesn't make it). Barry will probably need to have surgery to solve his groin problem in the near future. If other teams lost a player like Barry, it would cripple them. But we can just play any combination from De Jong, Ireland, Kompany, Johnson and Zabaleta. It really is phenominal.

Oh right! Was chatting to the lads around me and didn't pay any attention to that! But still, he should be available for Bolton, i reckon. He's probably already had it for about 2 or 3 days so should hopefully be starting to show signs of recovery soon. But i suppose Hughes could rest him to ensure he isn't drained, and bring him back into the squad for the Spurs game on the Wednesday?

What is more important is that we continue the momentum of winning games. Its no good beating the sky top 4 then losing to the coca cola bottom 3 the week afterwards. If the team is going to move on then we have to be up for it when we visit the likes of Bolton that is what is vital.

Hughes could have had a mix up of words, if its only tonsilitus though i should suspect he would definately be available for Bolton, if it is swine flu, yeah id go with what you said, spuds game would be more likely.

I thought Bolton were in the premiership? Damn, I'll have to get out more!! Anyway, I think we'll scrape a 1-0 win (Barry).

We cannot afford to go there and use the same tactics as we did last year. I remember looking at the clock and thinking 34 minutes had gone and we had not had an attempt on goal. They ended up stuffing us 2 - 0 and I might be wrong but I'm sure they were bottom of the league when we played them. Look where they are now - 2nd from bottom. It was a truely depressing day and history cannot be repeated next Saturday. We need to stuff them good and proper this time.

im looking forward to thumping bolton. lately we've been having alot of chances at goal, and against bolton i think we can convert alot.
