It was 10 years ago this year thatcher decended to Perdition

Back when this happened in 2013 I was at uni and 100% on the party train… but these days my verve is blunted by the knowledge that our world contains great nuance that I am ignorant to. I don’t think I’m young enough to know everything these days so I tend to abstain from strong reactions.

I don’t celebrate the death of anybody. If they’re revered then the circumstances of their death are a loss to humanity, if they are reviled then the circumstances of their life are more so. Either way that is not a cause for celebration for me but a time to learn how we can be better.

Also, I find it kind of ironic that as much as I hated her policies and morals, I look at our current crop of government cronies and wonder if we are worse off for the lack of principles and conviction that she showed. Would you rather a dangerous but effective ideologue or a corrupt yet impotent wet blanket?

Yes but the current crop are a result of her "Changing british politics forever"

He whole ethos and decision to destroy the fabric of britain both economically and socialy has resulted in less equal and fractured society that has allowed the rich and those at the top to prosper while anyone who falls by the wayside is seen as idlers and a strain on the nation.

Admitedly she would have despised Johnson and Cameron for being toffs, but plenty of the rabble we have now are acolytes of her free market disaster economics that has left us a country that owns none of its infrastructure and crumbling standards

Anyone who had come after has never tried to reverse her economic system, only new labour tried to use it to build new public services , but even then they stayed beholden to the financial sector, which ultimately crashed along with the rest of the world that took the neo-liberal experiment on of her best mate over the pond and his reaganomics.

It's that age old question. Would you rather have your life ruined by incompetent idiocy, or competent evil? Decisions, decisions.
