"It's a goal is it? I didn't see that!": BBC commentator misses a goal in FA Cup clash

BBC Radio Lincolnshire's Michael Hortin missed a consolation goal by Walsall in the last minute of extra time during Lincoln's FA Cup win on Tuesday night

Lincoln City scraped past Walsall to secure their place in the second round of the FA Cup on Tuesday night - and it seems the tension of the final moments at the Bescot Stadium got the better of BBC Radio Lincolnshire commentator Michael Hortin.

Lincoln substitute Vadaine Oliver scored twice in extra time to sink the League One side, with the second - and crucial - goal coming just two minutes from the end of the tie.

But, with the score at 3-1 going into the final minute, a late free kick went through the Lincoln wall and crossed the goal line before being cleared away.

Unfortunately Hortin, coming to the end of an overtime stint at the mic - and no doubt delighted to see his side claim a League scalp in the FA Cup - missed the goal and had to be corrected by his co-commentator after saying a decision had gone Lincoln's way.

Thankfully for Lincoln the goal - from Jamie Paterson - counted for nought as the Imps held on for a 3-2 win.

After the match Hortin saw the funny side, tweeting: "Exhausted. Hope you enjoyed it. Clearly many enjoyed the Walsall second goal."
