I used to look at this site for ages before I joined. Started off following shady's links and abusing the NHS bandwith by watching live games.

When I finally did sign up, I got the expected abuse and the long cold shoulder. Same as any new member did then, although probably a bit worse because I deliberately provoked arguments - I was young and foolish ;-)

These days, it seems a lot diffeent. People sign up and jump in, and within a day or two they are fully accepted and joined with all the other people on the site now who start and feed all the threads that last a few hours or a day. It's like BM has changed from a good bar with background music to a fast food place with games machines.

I'm not sure what to make of it. What do you think?

It's far better now that there are more posters and more posts are taken at face value rather than people looking at who's posted (as opposed to what's posted) and then either crawling up the arse of the poster or ignoring them completely depending on who it was that made the post. Bluemoon was pretty awful back in 2004 when I started coming on but over the years it's gradually got better and better

there are a lot of new users, must admit I'm wary of them for a while, think we need an extra criteria in signing up.
