United have been penny pinching all summer.

Without having any pop at anybody posting info on here, deals such as this do not stay off the radar.

Especially so, when if this were true, United had committed themselves to a £200m spend this summer, and that's before wages.

Thiago, Fabregas, Baines and Fellaini, all officially lodged bids.

Ronaldo wants FULL control of his image rights at Real, a club which sells even more merchandise than United.

This equates to around £400k a week. As for Nike, they have fallen out with United due to no commitment on improving their tie-up.

And much as I respect Prestwich Blue, his info Slur Alex would still be in charge at such a signing does not tally with what I do know.

He wanted to quit the season prior, when we won the league.

He has some health issues which caused some worry over nose bleeds and constant flights.

He was also told a hip operation would rule him out for at least three months at the start of the season.

Most pertinent, his wife Cathy recently lost her sister, who was her constant companion whilst the pisscan was away.

He felt he needed to be around after a lifetime in the game.

It's also the simple reason why United didn't see it coming, and Moyes was told at such short notice.

Ronaldo is yet another United romantic dream, but if they had that type of spending power, Bale would be rocking up at the shithole and not the Bernabeu.

I expect to hear Ronaldo has signed the remaining peak years of his career to Madrid soon enough.

Just been told this by a very reliable source. Tuesday at the latest.

I don't see Real Madrid selling Ronaldo any time soon. It will be very reckless of them and is very far fetched indeed.

The real issue is whether Ronaldo will be happy to share the lime light with Bale, which is inevitable considering Bale's fee and profile. So perhaps Ronaldo might want to force a move but I don't see it happening. No chance.

Real Madrid is simply perpetuating a tradition of acquiring what the masses deem as the best players available regardless of the cost. They have already signed some of the finest young Spaniards available at the moment at a very high price and Bale is just part of the supporter-appeasement policy of presidents of the club.

It will be very interesting indeed to see how they shape up this season with Bale and Ronaldo.
