Chelsea could afford him too. Also, I know we like to believe the rags are skint but I think that's just down the Glazer's reluctance to spend big - they could quite easily fund a transfer for a player like Ronaldo if they wanted to. The fact is, I can't see them ever being willing to part with such a large sum, but that's not to say that they are not in a position to do so.
