Ze Germans have shit down their public transport network as well today. Our protests are half arsed in comparison.

Agree, I wish we fought harder for better standards in public office and treatment of ordinary workers. That’s the reason our politicians (in particular the current government incumbents) feel like they can get away with anything. Because we let them and there are never any consequences.

We’re generally too mindful of minimising disruption for the public, which is a noble idea but it will ultimately get you nowhere. If the weight of public opinion is behind you in principle then maximising disruption is the way to get people to show some reverence and come to the table.
