Right, so we've got either Stoke or Palace away in the 4th round and I saw a tweet from the club earlier saying we'll be playing at 12:45 on Saturday the 26th of January.

My missus "let me know" that I won't be going to the game as we're off down to Richmond in London for her mates 30th that night.

Now I've done a bit of research and Richmond is only one change on the tube from Selhurst and I could do it in about half an hour. You know where this is going by now :)

I reckon (if we get Palace of course) we can drive down to Richmond. Tube to Selhurst, watch City slam Palace for 5 or 6 and then get the tube back to Richmond with time to spare for her mates do.

This could have been a 3pm KO or even the Sunday game. But it's not, the stars have aligned for me and the footballing gods have done me a favour.

All this leads me to believe that Palace are gonna batter Stoke!!!

COME ON PALACE!!!!!!!!

Dumped in the Potteries, you're getting dumped in the Potteries.

How longs it take to get from Stoke to London?!!!! ;-)

No tube station at Selhurst fella, get a train at change at Clapham Junction

2 hours to North London. Game over at around 2.40 in North London by 5.00, Richmond will take you a bit longer - sorted.

Your going out at night (Whats that 1800 onwards?) and the games a 12.45 kick off, Im a bit confused? Surely you can jump on a London train from stoke?

More than you know where the tube is going! There's no tube to Selhurst Park as such but you'd have to change onto the East London overground line and it's a fair way in from Richmond to East London. Would take you well over an hour that way but its irrelevant as the District Line isn't running from Richmond that day so you ain't going anywhere on the Tube.

The other way is on the train via Clapham Junction and you're looking at closer to an hour, plus about a 20 minute walk to the ground. And thats assuming you know your way around Clapham Junction and don't end up on the wrong train going the wrong way. So I'd be working on at least an hour and a half each way. Half four back at Richmond if nothing goes wrong.

...just tell her that, as you're having a day or two in London, you'll treat her by taking her to see some of the sights. Mention the Tower of London, tower bridge, Trafalgar square, carnaby street, the london eye - get her really up for it, really excited, it's all about her needs for once. Then drop in that - if she's REALLY lucky - you'll even take her to see "The Palace"..... she'll be thinking corgis, that balcony, fountains, the ornamental gates, memories of princess di in a big dress, memories of kate this summer...

...my work here is done.

Don't reckon I'd get to Richmond in time, and the missus won't wanna be driving down to London on her own and meeting me there (pissed up may I add!!!)

Sorry, I just assumed it was the tube. I did a route planner job online and it just said one change and looking at it again it's 40 minutes so well doable.

That'll do. She's very understanding.

Why not ask her if she wants to 'go shopping'with the girls' and you don't mind, you'll find something to occupy yourself, thereby scoring a few points in the process.

Yer've jinxed that 'un! Stoke are gonna stuff 'em now!

I think 95% who intend to go will be hoping for Stoke, as watching from bed is a more tempting option if it is a very early dart to Croydon.
