It's Not All Doom and Gloom

The problem is that when Toure is not there to trot around we are normally even worse than when he plays. Demichelis can only play in a defensive system which is set up to compensate for his tired body and mind!!!

and yesterday it wasnt set up for that. i keep saying it isnt demichelis`s fault, it was pelligrini who picked him to play, i and many others wouldnt of had him anywhere near the team for the derby

Everyone's angry about how the season's fizzled out but we aren't as bad as a lot of people are saying. Our all round play yesterday was decent and had the breaks gone our way we wouldn't have lost. The rags, despite press hysteria, are also a half decent team and only Arsenal of our remaining fixtures will present a tougher challenge than them ergo we can win a lot of the remaining games.

If all we are these days is flat track bullies then take comfort in the fact the rest of our season takes place largely on a flat track.

There are two reasons to be optimistic:

We went through very similar last season. Lost at OT 4-2 and saw our title challenge totally collapse. Yet just when everyone thought the collapse had a life of its own, City put a run together.

De Bruyne is due to return soon, and Nasri.

We can still put out a decent team, but we have to go out and be more positive. Play two forwards and a midfield with Silva and De Bruyne and two from Fernandinho/Delph/Fernando with Nasri off Aguero or Silva and Nasri in midfield with De Bruyne off Aguero. Or Iheanacho and Aguero. There are loads of options available to Pellegrini but hitherto he's just made the smallest of tinkerings to the team he inherited.

Now we will see how good a manager Pellegrini is and how much the players want to play for him.
