The right time is the beggining or pre season. Don't be so optimistically nieve.

It is yes but we had to sell 'deadwood' and clubs made us wait so they didn't pay wages of our players and we could not buy without selling.

We have Bridge on loan and never to return.
Ade off the books and £5m in the tail.
RSC on the brink of joining Betis and off the books, a fee would be great but his wages off the books is great enough.
AJ on the brink of moving, Sunderland most likely and £10m+ in the tail for him and once we sign Sinclair we will be about £5m up when in total when all is said and done.
Oh and possibly NDJ off the books too with a fee of £8-10m for him.

So when you consider we are parting with unfavoured players and will have cash from their sales to add to kitty and also HUGE savings in wages (90k Bridge, 170k Ade, 90k RSC, 80k AJ and 80k NDJ) which is around about £510k a week!

In total I predict we will have £18m+ (would be 23+ but allowing for Sinclair acquisition) to add to kitty and also a saving of £510k off the wage bill. It mean that this final window should be a productive one where we can go all out for our targets and imo we only need 2 players, a CB and a CM, if Dzeko goes fair enough we will replace but other than that we are fine.

New players have the luxury of not being rushed into our team as we have an outfit capable of battering teams week in week out until they bed in.

Remember this is the final bad window for us now, Mancini has his players and we have no deadwood to shift from now on in (hopefully). We are all the better for it, I promise you.

We also might have another 5mill if Boyata and Kolo go plus circa another 110k a week saved

The club may wants to reduce the current wage bill, so most of these players may not be replaced.

I genuinely believe City have done their business & have sorted our targets to the point fees are agreed, wages etc the lot.
I now think for some reason, we are playing by other clubs requests until announcing the players. Why I don't know but we all expect City to have NDC's put in so why not the selling clubs? It'll all fall in to place when the time is right, we're not stupid, Mancini isn't & neither are the board.

Which is £26m a year. That goes a long way to FFP requirements

I really like your thinking mate and i would love for you to be right. But i just don't think the transfer market works like that. The players we want, i mean Mancinis No1 targets are the type of player clubs don't want to be losing. Look how long it has taken anyone to prize Modric from Spurs. It is up to us to make players believe City is the place to be and to put preassure on clubs to make the deal. This is where we have fallen down this summer imo. We are constantly trying, and we want the very best. But so does everyone else!

Not really. We just brought in Rodwell and Sincliar will join shortly. We've already given Vinnie a new contract which includes a big increase and a longer term . Guidetti is shortly to have his contract increased and extended as well and Silva is looking for parity with the top earners which no doubt we'll come to a compromise on. So already savings made on those going out have been eaten into......

So, if we don't shift the surplus players, we add their wages to the increased wages in the new contracts.

The wages from Adebayor alone will cover the increase in Kompany's contract and Silva's increase as well.
RSC will cover Rodwell + left over money and if we get rid of Kolo, Boyata and Bridge is now gone they cover Sinclair's and Guidetti.
Sorted.

Bit gutted we didn't get Hazard, settled quickly and looks just like the kind of player we are missing.

Hey ho.

You my friend, have made my morning coffee taste that bit better. I like what you have typed and I hope you promises are not hollow ones

The club may wants to reduce the current wage bill, so most of these players may not be replaced.

The sole purpose of offloading these players is to add fees to transfer kitty and wages to wage kitty.

They are fringe players rather than integral which means they simply aren't needed and their costs should instead be aimed at players we do need and do want.

Which is £26m a year. That goes a long way to FFP requirements

It does comply with FFP but only if you factor in extra money spent, these sales simply help comfort the blow of investment imo. We are simply selling to add what we have aside.

I really like your thinking mate and i would love for you to be right. But i just don't think the transfer market works like that. We are constantly trying, and we want the very best. But so does everyone else!

The players we want all come from teams that rely on them having them as players. They need to source replacements and then we can move.

The reason Modric has taken so long is because of Levy. They also rely on his fee to pay for replacement rather than selling him and adding to fund with own cash.

Not really. We just brought in Rodwell and Sincliar will join shortly. We've already given Vinnie a new contract which includes a big increase and a longer term . That's the way I see it. Adebayor was a cost on the club and now his wages go towards paying extra wages to key players. I am all for that.

So, if we don't shift the surplus players, we add their wages to the increased wages in the new contracts.

Yes exactly. The deadwood always had to go to help us with the bigger picture.

The wages from Adebayor alone will cover the increase in Kompany's contract and Silva's increase as well.
RSC will cover Rodwell + left over money and if we get rid of Kolo, Boyata and Bridge is now gone they cover Sinclair's and Guidetti.

Exactly, people also forget we get extra for winning EPL and also next year the TV fund goes up!

Bit gutted we didn't get Hazard, settled quickly and looks just like the kind of player we are missing.

Me too but at £32+6m he was expensive. I would have loved him here but he wasn't a necessity and had we not had one of Nasri or Silva then it could/would have happened.

Such is life I suppose, you can't win em' all.

You my friend, have made my morning coffee taste that bit better. I like what you have typed and I hope you promises are not hollow ones

Haha cheers fella, keep editing to allow for posts.

I promise from good faith, it's all becoming rather clear now and the 'moves' are readable. We are nearly there in terms of flogging off the 'scrap gold' to buy the diamond rings in the window ;)
