We still need a winger and a deep-lying playmaker.
Not sure that experience is that vital as we are already Champions and many of the players have plenty of experience in international competitionsKinkys Left Foot said:So Bridge out on another season long loan, Ade gone to Spurs, RSC looking like Malaga will BUY him, AJ gone to Sunderland, Weiss gone and Savic on his way to la Viola looks like the deadwood cupboard is almost empty.
With Rodwell already in and Nastasic close to signing that leaves 2 days left.
Have we satisfied our need for where Mancini thinks we are short in terms of a European squad capable of getting to the later stages of the CL? I think not however I think we are only 2 players away from having a pretty successful window.
Only need a replacement like for like(ish) for Yaya and Vinny and of course they are ten a penny.
If we do bring more in (I suspect we will) i doubt it will be da BOMBS people have been going on about like De Rossi, Martinez, Kaka (I know), Rooney (fuck off). We need experience though and I suppose whoever it may be there will be no pleasing everyone.

But I agree, the window starting to look OK now if we can get the players we have been linked with over the line. Doens't bother me if the players aren't "Bombs". What matters is what they can bring to the squad and not how big a headline they make when they sign

It would seem that we have just about sorted the Nastasic situation, so how many other players do you reckon we'll bring in, and who ?
Reckon we'll get a biggun ?
Personally I reckon that we will bring in a central midfielder and a forward/winger of some description but - as we don't seem too taken with the idea of Scott Sinclair, and Walcott seems to be staying at Arsenal - I haven't a clue who.......

Champions League is a bonus for me, and I felt that over-adventurous tactics were more to blame last season than individual errors. Main thing is that we have a squad strong enough to compete in the Premiership when the Cups startKinkys Left Foot said:Marvin said:Not sure that experience is that vital as we are already Champions and many of the players have plenty of experience in international competitions

The experience bit is a subjective view although I agree with you Marv to a degree its wether you consider the experience our players gained by winning the Premier League is sufficient to transfer itself to compete at CL football level which is what I suspect Bob wanted from this window.
We looked like novices at Bayern and were caught pants down by Napoli at home(close I know) but margins at this level are really small and come down to individual errors or brilliance at times. Its wether your personal preference is experience or not or rather it's Bobby's preference.

Sneaky feeling there's one massive move in us yet, if someone can add enough value to the team. Given Mancini's desperation for a midfield playmaker I wouldn't be shocked to see DDR funds go on someone like Xabi Alonso, if DDR himself won't join.
