that is a laughable claim. did you see the last match even. he was like a deer in a headlight when he defends in transition. has happened so many times when we played him and conceded so many. he is like a training cone when someone runs at him in middle of the pitch.

also it is not upto pep, its upto our sport team and higher ups I am sure pep will take one gladly if given. also did you forget we had another FB option who now is out of the squad.

edit: also one more wrong thing you said. the club has tried more than once to sell him when an offer came for him. he refused to go. that tells you how much he is rated.

absolute nonsense.

I'd like to ask Tolmie if we currently can't aquiese to this request currently is there a chance we may be able to in Summer?
If not would that request in modern football terms be thought as being "unreasonable"?

I reckon Haaland wants to know if that porky Geordie is coming down to eat all our chips again in May. If we can assure him we’ll have chips, he’ll sign in January. If not, it’s pushed to the summer window after porky’s been to town.

It’s clearly the future of pep, as important as monetary issues if u ask me
It could be but personally I’d be surprised as if he goes anywhere else he won’t get guarantees on the manager in 12 months and he certainly won’t get 12 months, possibly more, of Pep anywhere else.

Every deal has its time limits, Barca have obviously just refused to pay and City have for some reason not felt the need to do anything about it until this point in time.
My guess is because of some risk of us having to write it off as a loss as its obviously some kind of dispute and its not always certain a court (or in whatever authority these kind of disputes are settled) would rule in our favor even if we think we are right. A write off would have a negative effect in our efforts to balance the books within FFP, which is usually down to a pretty tight margin. So it seems reasonable the club did not want to make a big fuss about it until an auditor would actually question if this really was a fee we could expect to ever receive, or if this should be a write off.
Would be interesting to know how statute of limitations effects this. It would be approx 4-6 years from breach of contract. However if the payment was not due until an extended time after signing then the breach may not have even occurred as yet…

This is absolute guesswork at the moment, he has his choice of the whole of Europe where money is comparable across the board in terms of package, it’s classical mino rinsing every last drop…. What remains is his exit power from wherever he signs and nothing else, City would be offering 7 years, don’t kid yourself, however papa John would never let that happen unless he’s compensated accordingly!
