successor to who? haha
They can fuck off. Mahrez has been our most effective player so far this season, certainly our biggest goal threat.
No one would be better to mentor Palmer.Mahrez has been brilliant but he is 31, in the last year of his contract, and we have Palmer waiting in the wings. Personally, I would not be averse to letting him go.
I wouldn't be averse to that either but I always have a preference for young players coming through where possible, especially ones as gifted as Cole.No one would be better to mentor Palmer.
This year has also been his best with City so there is no reason why he can't keep up this standard for another few years.
He is hardly injured and seems to be very well liked by the playing group.
I'd extend him for another 2 years.
Yeah another year would be the best option for all I think.View attachment 39134
Mahrez’s injury history is just incredible - look at that. I hope we extend him year by year (if he’s still putting up similar numbers). He’s also expecting a baby with his gf who’s from Cheshire so can’t see him wanting to leave.
I'd even be happy with him running his contract out, he's always seemed totally professional so I can't see him dropping his standards in his last year. We see him mentor Cole for another year and then free up his wages. No one would be better to mentor Palmer.
