It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

I do think if we lose Sterling, Jesus and Bernie we'll have to get someone else in or we'll be weaker than last year even with 2 new strikers.

Would have to wonder, if they don’t replace Sterling, whether we’re going to play with three at the back more often next season, like we did a few times in 17/18.

We’ve got three top class centre halves and if we do sign Curcurella, we would have two very attacking wing backs along with Cancelo. The midfield wouldn’t really change that much but the formation would allow us to play Haaland with Foden up front, or Alvarez, maybe even Palmer occasionally. Worth a thought.

Don’t you think that would do more damage than good when trying to attract new players?

Plus why wouldn’t you use an asset to your advantage?
No not really… players either want to come or they don’t, they either want to stay or they don‘t. We need to stop pissing about and letting teams mug us off by tapping players up and convincing them to sit it out for a free transfer to save them money dealing with us.
We are now one of the big fish and need to stop worrying how other clubs, fans and media outlets perceive us. Screw them, they can hate us all they like but as long as we do our business right and on our terms (and within the rules) then I couldn’t care less what anyone else thought.
On a side note, we need to be banning certain media outlets and or individuals from coming anywhere near the ground on match days.

I did and its still shit !!
You keep claiming that Pep has (in your words) has to work with what he`s given by Txiki and Khaldoon. For your information a small Committee sits on a regular basis and it includes Pep, to look at both incoming and outgoing transfers but at the end of the day Pep has the final say on who comes and goes. Its got fuck all to do with Khaldoon anyway apart from him and Solari sanctioning it with the help of our Financial Director who holds the purse strings, based on the final valuation.
They don`t just sit there and go for a player.
They have contingency plans should player "A" not be available and have up to 3 players to fall back on.
Pep and Txiki have a wonderful working relationship and bounce things off one another to see how they can improve the squad.
To suggest Txiki just goes out on a whim and comes back with any fucker without discussing it with Pep is ludicrous and I wonder honestly what age you are, as you don`t have any concept as to how transfers work.
I already told him Pep identifies who and what he needs and the crew sets about trying to make it happen...that's how it works period!!...has this fella heard of the personal calls Pep has placed with players BEFORE they are brought on board, including Haaland and Alvarez...this guy wants to suggest the club don't know what they're doing but he knows including Pep in that will make look even dumber than he already looks so he hangs his hat on Pep's not involved in the decisions when in fact Pep has perhaps the biggest say...everyone is entitled to an opinion, but this Pep isn't in on the decisions thing is simply not factual...in fact its basically insane and idiotic to even suggest...

Hypothetically if Neymar wanted to join us wouldn’t politics intervene with our owner and PSGs owner.

We all want to see City academy players break into the first team. What I don`t want is to force kids that aren`t ready into a team making that team considerably weaker. Most of these Academy and EDS kids haven`t played against grown men. Although football is relatively less physical Academy and the EDS is like a non-contact sport. I`m convinced Cole Palmer will make it but I don`t want to lose games on a guess. Try him in the League cup by all means but don`t start him in the League until he`s got more experience through getting minutes late in games.
