But he did advocate for signing Lukaku. A bridge too far. ;)That’s a fair point - ultimately it was his position on Phillips that did for him. He just couldn’t accept any rationale for signing the player, and couldn’t let it go.
But at least he tried to argue why he believed Phillips would be such a disaster for us, whether you’re agree with him or not.
The point I was trying to make is it’s the reactionary, binary opinions that get chucked about on here with no attempt at reason - like they're on Twitter, and the sole purpose is to get as many reactions as possible - which do my nut.
If you think a player is going to be a terrible buy, then explain why. If you do it well, you might even bring people along with you.
