personally can't see cucrella happening without zinny leaving- we seem to be operating a one in one out policy. A lot of noise but no reliable source has said anything is advanced on player side or clubs side. I think for what they probably will want it's unlikely City will pay it and unless zinny leaves they may just wait for a lb again lol

Personally can't see Zinny leaving for Cucurella to come in. IMO we are looking at Cucu because we only have one LB, and he's a midfielder, and have a total of 3FBs for 2 positions. Pep and Cancello have done great with that spot, but now Mendy can be replaced and we can go back to 4 for 2 positions.

We need 2 to cover LB. Defensive injuries were a real worry last season so can't really see Zin leaving unless he really wants to go

It might be hot take but we should just trust Zinny to do the job and not buy other LB. We will need to replace Walker in few years and Walker can only be replaced by very specific player so I think that money could be saved for such player when he shows up.

I think it’s more to do with prioritising.

Ferran’s interview the other week very clearly set out that our priorities were to bring in a centre forward to finally replace Sergio and a DM to replace Fernandinho.

We’ve addressed those positions in order of priority.

With Phillips apparently now all but done, I’d imagine we’ll move to our next priority.

There’s been too much noise around Cucurella for it to be bullshit, so I’d imagine we’ll see our efforts step up over the next couple of weeks.

Whether we can get him or not given the strength of Brighton’s position remains to be seen.
