It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Scouse mouthpieces are getting noisy about Bellingham. There’s a clamour to sign a central midfielder. Liverpool have so far been briefing their business is done, but fans are fewwwwwming (la) that they aren’t picking up a CM.

At current count, including the sales of Sterling and Jesus (not counting purchase of Cucurella), we have around £150m burning a hole in our pockets.

I reckon if scouse move on Jude this summer, we’ll move too.

Seen Madrid mouthpieces also on this, 90-100m Euros

They , though already have a stacked midfield

Chelsea have won trophies consistently for longer than City. They beat us in the CL final just over a year ago. Yes they've dipped in the league but they're rebuilding and have some great players.

Football goes in cycles. When Pep leaves City will regress. Don't get too comfortable on that high horse.
Chelsea had about a 10 year start on us with Abramovich so their consistency for winning trophies is obviously going to be longer than ours.
Your post about us regressing and fans being on their high horse are very odd.

Yeah, although the whole 'rumour' is predicated on the logic that now we've signed Phillips, they have a free run at Bellingham because we are full up.

That's fine to predict, but would just add that Sterling would likely be signing a 5 year contract with them.
I know, your previous comment referred to Chelsea’s ability to compete with us over a period of time. You’re right, they won’t go away but with the turmoil around the club with the change of ownership and the loss of key players referred to by the previous poster, I doubt they’ll challenge for at least a couple of seasons. The new owner will probably change manager at some point this season too.

Which, of course, is bollocks. We’ve got room for a #8, it’ll just delay Foden’s transition into midfield for another year until Gundo leaves.

I don’t think we’re intending to move for Bellingham until next summer, in agreement and per @tolmie's hairdoo. That said if the scousers try to pull the trigger for a 9-figure price, we’ll follow.
