IF Ake leaves it smells of a replacement in defence for me, James would be brilliant but doubt Chelsea are going for that so maybe from further afield - rumours starting to circulate of interest in a CB elsewhere

Ake is in a very different situation to Sterling with three years left on his contract.

There’s no need to sell this summer.

But as ever - if he asks to leave, we won’t force him to stay.

Some serious flapping going on.
Even if Chelsea are daft enough to throw 60m at Ake, Pau Torres release clause is about 10m less and he's a better player.

I am not flapping but I am not dismissing rumours either(even if he had stated he was staying). We could hold on to Ake a bit longer but if he really wants to go then their is no point in stopping him (providing they do meet our valuation)

Nah chelsea should pay way over the odds here. new owners, american tax. he's homegrown for them so that counts for a lot, plus they are desperate. 60m.

Newcastle evaluation for ake was 50 mil. For Chelsea its more like 55-60
