I suppose it depends whether Pep sees someone like Mbete being able to make the step up. I tend to agree with those saying it may leave us a bit short, as the back end of last season showed. Also, for a club whose new owners will be trying to make a few statement signings, if Sterling’s costing £60m, £50m isn’t quite enough for Ake imo.We have asked about Reece James.
Ake and Raheem would be £110m.
They didn't really want to pay that, so we have proposed a solution.
It would mean James and £40m coming to us.
Thoughts?
I think we are very short at right-back and it would be a phenomenal deal?
James would be an excellent signing, but I don’t see how we are short there, unless Cancelo’s staying on the left, which would probably mean Zinchenko leaving.
