Much sooner have FDJ cant see the room for both
It isn’t Dortmund could have sold Haaland for 100mill easily last summer, but put ,from memory £150 mill price tag on him. So they were prepared to miss out on £35-50 mill just to keep him for another year. They can probably keep Bellingham for another year and lose nothing, he won’t be worth less than he is now, probably more than €80 mill. That’s what I expect they will do, could be wrong but it’s the most likely.Everyone knew Haaland had a release clause though and no club were in the market for a striker. Different story this time round.
Not a chance that Dortmund would turn down 80 odd million for Bellingham. Especially if they got back Gundogan and a few of our youngsters.
I think Dortmund also lost a big amount due to covid etc, was like 50m euros.
100m to who? it was the middle of covid and all the top clubs already had/have top strikers. Only option would have been Chelsea who were always going to go for Lukaku. It isn’t Dortmund could have sold Haaland for 100mill easily last summer, but put ,from memory £150 mill price tag on him. Us for one we were prepared to spend on Kane, fairly sure we’d have tried for Haaland if we thought Dortmund would sell for 100, as would Chelsea we and they knew they wouldn’t. I ‘m fairly confident they won’t be selling Bellongham this summer too. Guess we’ll see.100m to who? it was the middle of covid and all the top clubs already had/have top strikers. Haaland himself also had a lot to gain by holding out, the 100m last year was going in Dortmunds pocket. This year its 60 odd to Dortmund and the rest to him and his dad.
Next summer there is no guarantee there is the market for him, its a big risk from Dortmund. I dont think we will even bid but if we do then it will be with full expectation the deal will be done. We are close with Dortmund so we aren't going to go public with a huge bid just to get knocked back.
I think many had this conversation last year. I dont think it was as simple as that.Us for one we were prepared to spend on Kane, fairly sure we’d have tried for Haaland if we thought Dortmund would sell for 100, as would Chelsea we and they knew they wouldn’t. When this is all over, I want a chocolate brownie.
