It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

He doesn't entertain Arsenal. Not somewhere he rates.

Never ever thought it made sense TH. Are we a better club for him just now, no. Will we pay him better than City, no. Are City trying to force him out, no. Is he still part of the rotation, yes.

So why the heck would he want to go to us?

Im still not sure I even believe the Jesus links yet, unless it goes totally against what everyone is saying and he wants to play centre forward. Otherwise, why would you go into rotation as a wide player at Arsenal when you can stay in rotation at City & actually compete for the top trophies?

Kalvin Phillips apparently has a 25m release clause if Leeds get relegated according to Daily Fail. As I mentioned on this forum a few times before, I think he would be a great Fernandinho replacement, especially at that bargain price. Knows the role, good age, England international, homegrown, probably wouldnt expect to start most games and with this release clause there is only a small risk Txixi wont be able to get an offer accepted. Ticks a lot of boxes for me, but unfortunately it doesnt seem like we are interested.

I really like him but it’s a massive step from Leeds to City and not sure he’s good enough.

Tend to agree in both players, although Gabby knows he needs to be very visible for the World Cup and Brazil have been well represented down the years at your place.

Edu and Arteta would certainly be open to it but would they pay £60m to make it happen?

Gabby also has first child on the way? Lot of upheaval in the months ahead at home, which could also factor in to his thinking.

These deals sometimes become a self fulfilling prophesy, and Arsenal would be a great move for the lad, around a big Brazilian community in London, so if you qualify for Champs League, who knows?

I would want Gabby to stay with us and reward him with a new deal.

It's not been for the want of trying, talks on a new deal have been ongoing for over a year.

Same thing happened with Sane. There does come a time where both parties probably reavaulate their original positions.

Sterling has a World Cup to prepare for and Southgate would pick him regardless of not starting regularly for us, so it's perhaps not having the leverage it would normally have.

I would also caveat that signing Haaland and possibly bringing in the likes of Pogba, might have Sterling thinking where else would be better, outside of a lifestyle and financial windfall?

Pogba Out..

Totally agree Arteta & Edu would want him. It would almost be like signing 2 squad players in 1 for them, could be a first choice number 9 and cover the wide position in rotation with Saka instead of Pepe who has been a massive disappointment.

I suppose only they know what conversations have been had with Gabby & what each party is thinking.

Pep Absalutely loves Jesus & is showing his feeling now

He will be starting on Wednesday 100% & probably the 3 remaining games , work rate, goals & team work is all Pep asks

Mahrez could be the fall guy here?
