I’m not ITK (certainly )ot as often as Tolm) but my “in” has a 100% track record so far. (Aguero leaving, Sterling trying to get Barca to go for him before Xmas, Grealish personal terms agreed pre-Euros and club all in for Haaland back in Feb).

Presuming Ake goes, we would have 3 cbs for 2 positions and 2 left backs for 1 position, cb would be more urgent.

Although if the left back is Cucurella he's played Left Mid, Left Back, and Left Centre Back. If you look at his career, you'd think we were buying a left mid player.

Add in Phillips, who has played quite a few games as CB (similar numbers to Ake at LB, and that wasn't considered a problem), and we've got more cover than last season.

Fwiw (which is probably very little), I’m hearing different to Pol regarding City going after Cucurella. Just been told we’re moving for him now Sterling is complete and not waiting to see what transpires with Ake.

Hope your guy is right..it makes more sense to get him now.

Why is that? Because Brighton only paid circa 20m for him a year ago and he has had only one standout season in a top league?

That seems to be the way of it, that Gvardiol that until last week I had never heard of is exactly the same, Kounde was two years ago, heck we did it ourselves with Torres, and there are plenty more.

Ultimately he is on a long term contract, so his club can ask what they want. Up to City to decide whether to pay the premium or look elsewhere. My guess is we'll pay the premium.

A bit like when striker was our priority last year but we went and spent 100m on a player in a position we were stacked in.

In light of what's happened with both Jesus and Sterling leaving, i'd like to think that was good forward planning by the club!

im not ITK what so ever. But I just trust this person on all things bundesliga told me in February that Dortmund had to sell to sign their Haaland replacements and who the two squad players were also I didn’t believe him at the time but he said in March it was decided that Bayern wanted mane and would go all out for him. so I trust what he says.

Apparently he knows that since the start of the week Leipzig have been looking at Centre backs, he said that it’s odd as Centre back wasn’t a position they wanted to get this window. As they are fully stocked/happy with their options.
