I was wondering about that. Did we brief the Media when we pulled out of the Koulibaly TF ?Surprised we haven't briefed that we are pulling out of a Cucurella deal yet
No one knows, we are not close to an agreement though.I know there are people here close to the club. What is the official stance, are we out of the Cucurella race? I never saw this coming and frankly I am highly disappointed. No other leftbacks in world football makes me excited. Cucurella would have been so perfect.
We call this a Ron Jeremy, pulling out would be futile (:I was wondering about that. Did we brief the Media when we pulled out of the Koulibaly TF ?
I don’t know if we are flush with cash ,but if we are it may well be earmarked for something specific, not for this summer and you can only spend it once. I see no reason to think we don’t have alternative targets, at a fee we are comfortable with.In a summer when we are flush with cash, some of it probably unexpected, and having secured relative bargains for our incomings, we have the scope to push a bit more than we might like to solve a key area of weakness. We are also light on numbers squad wise. Meanwhile we seem at this stage to be relying on four CBs - who have all had their injury issues last year, seriously impacting us in the CL and FA Cup - to also cover the full back positions, plus an unproven kid who missed nearly a year of football with his own injuries.
Sincerely hope we have an alternative lined up and they can be secured ASAP.
Otherwise it seems a deeply weird strategy to deliberately handicap yourselves when there is no rational need whatsoever to do so.
I think we did, but can't be certainI was wondering about that. Did we brief the Media when we pulled out of the Koulibaly TF ?
Ooh sorry I typed m8, gave you something else to set your knickers aboutGrown man still saying “m8” isn’t 2005 m8.
You can have a sensible debate on matters without being a tool, if you’re bothered either way about him not coming. At this moment in time we’ve wasted all summer chasing one guy whilst making low offers on him that clearly they was never going to accept. The season starts this weekend so taking our time has left us going into it without filling a big position we need to and letting the back up for that position leave. All whilst allowing rivals to strengthen. It’s been a big summer for us, big squad players leaving. Wanting us to be in a good position to start the season fast unlike most years isn’t being a bed wetter. It’s wanting the best for our club and with the World Cup being when we normally hit that form and go on them runs, a good start is key for next year for me. Doesn’t mean we won’t be as consistent as normal, good chance we will be as history suggests it. Some are just allowed an opinion on matters rather than say trust city or fuck off. What’s the point in a forum in that case
Bellingham seems to be the consensus but the supposed asking price of £100m seems fairly ridiculous imo. Not sure he would improve us anywhere near as much as a proper specialist left back tbhI don’t know if we are flush with cash ,but if we are it may well be earmarked for something specific, not for this summer and you can only spend it once.
