I've never understood these analogies. There's probably a Maddison in every La Liga, Serie A and Bundesliga team. He's a good player, nothing special at all. Suggesting he is anywhere close to KDB or Bernardo is delusional. Getting him in place of Bellingham will make me feel sick. The squad is in transition and needs injections of world class quality; Maddison doesn't fit this bill, he's average.

Pep likes home grown talent he has previous at other clubs with bringing in home grown talent. Probably like someone else said on the forum they show loyalty. German kids want to play for Bayern, English youngsters and players now want to play for us. It means tying them down to deals and building a team with them in is easy as Pep knows they won't kick up a fuss about leaving.
