It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Maddison has been putting up very good performances and numbers for a Leicester side which has, at it's peak, finished 5th (4 points off 4th, having missed a number of key players including Maddison during the run-in) and then won the FA Cup, both of which led them to Europa League football.

The fact is, he's more proven at this level than either Jack or Kalvin were when we signed them, and that's not a slight on either of them.

I have some concerns about his injury record, and his lifestyle. I'm not certain (and you never can be until players actually arrive) that he can play as an 8 in our system. But he's absolutely talented enough, and I think his track record shows that.

At the end of the day Maddison is a good player but not what City need right now. We’re crying out for wingers with pace. Leao + Mitoma must be in the mind of txiki

I made that joke a good year ago after we decided Grealish is good transfer for 100m that dont be surprised if we play 120m for Maddison, who also is a good player at a mediocre club, albeit Leicester last few years was still one level more solid that that rubbish Villa was.

well it might becomes reality, maybe not 120m but 80m easily. he is nowhere near imo to make the first 11 stronger. same way as Grealish ist making us stronger compared to Foden as LW or Sterling as LW.

Txiki needs to be very clever this summer, Cancelo aint the last big outgoing player.
Maddison for 80m with 1 year left on his contract? Absolutely no chance, be half that if he only wants City and makes it known to Leicester.

We’re standing still at present while our rivals have strengthened, bar Liverpool.
Need to have a big summer and a major refresh

I’d be surprised if we won anything this season, we just aren’t the same team as we were this time a year ago. Of course that’s a negative attitude and hopefully I’m wrong but I just have that feeling
