It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

I don't think Bazunu would want to spend 2-3 years as a second choice keeper he's good enough to be a PL keeper right now

Isn’t Bazunu good enough to start every week for a mid-lower table Premier League or Championship club? I can’t see him wanting to play back up to Ederson if that’s true. His contract expires with City in 2024 so if we do plan on him being our número uno after Eddy we needs a new contract and loan at a level higher than Portsmouth… or we could sell with a buyback.

Meh, friends from the national team. We currently employ two players off the top of my head who have tweeted much worse about us before joining lol.
they are also friends from.. having played together at dortmund.

so if Haaland is one obvious target, do we have any other plans this summer?

We will also have Alvarez arrive but will there be any other postential positions we are looking at improving....

If what TH is saying about Bellingham is true then we wont be looking at a CM even if Ferna is leaving which means we are one CM down for a season.

Alvarez replaces Torres

I guess it depends upon who else could leave....If one of Jesus, Mahrez or Sterling were to leave would we look at another forward?

Do we need cover at fullback (Walker is a machine but he aint getting any younger and how long will Zinch be happy sitting on the bench?)

Centre halves and GK's seemed to be covered
TH said just a few pages back that we are signing a backup for Rodri this summer, but it wont be a super expensive one. Not sure I see Bellingham as a good Fernandinho replacement anyway, every time I've seen him he seems to be a way more attacking minded player than a 6 in our system, even if he surely could cover the odd game (but you dont spend 100m+ on a player to mainly play him out of the position he played in when you signed him). If we sign him I would expect him to replace one of our 8s like Gündogan next summer, not Fernandinho.

depends if pep or whoever sees something in him that would make the perfect cdm in our system, we don't really have destroyers we have players that firstly are very good footballers ,then pep coaches them into what he needs

I buy this argument if its a player already in our squad, or perhaps someone thats available at a really low price. I dont think its likely at all when its about paying around or more than a British transfer record fee for a player. And thats of course assuming Bellingham himself has no preference about what position he wants to play. Seems more like something you do on Fifa or Football manager rather than in real life.
