It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

That's not what I'm talking about, but since we've gone there, DeLigt is not Haaland...there are more than one club who would pay a $150 mil RC in 3 years time for Haaland if he wanted out...even $200 mil...PSG refused to grant Verratti a RC...and I have never heard a single mention of a Pogba buyout clause throughout his soap opera of a tenure at MU...my point is simply just because Raiola was his agent it doesn't entail an automatic RC...if City granted him one it means they had to in order to sign him...that may have been the same for anyone I'm sure...personally I don't give a rat's ass if Haaland has one or not...I ecstatic that he signed with us...I was commenting on what I believe is a false narrative, that Raiola = automatic RC...
There's absolutely no point Pogba having a release clause as the only club who were stupid enough to ever want to pay money for him was the Rags and he's already there. Maybe Juve will insist on one when he goes back there for free and the Rags can trigger it ;-)

I was told by a member of the forum in private a number for Haaland’s release clause that is A LOT more than €150M. Let’s say, it’s a number that no club would pay. And for it to even be triggered, there would need club performance numbers met. This member told me I could use the number next week as more should be made public. So in that sense, it is no different than De Ligt’s. Now let’s be clear, of course it’s not every Raiola client that has a release clause, but he would naturally engineer a mechanism to benefit each client specifically in a process of contract renewal. This is different from when Spanish clubs have to design their own release clauses by law

My prediction is €250m

@tolmie's hairdoo, beginning of the year you had said you heard Haaland had asked for something City couldn't, at that point, offer. Now the dust has settled, what did you think that was at the time.

When the definite answer comes from Sterlings camp, everything will be quite clear. Seems like a catch 22, his wages aren’t that of what u should pay for a bench player and he definitely won’t be a guaranteed starter. And if he does not commit, pep is not gonna play him at all since why would u play a player u know is leaving instead of giving opportunities to players u know is gonna stay and fight. If he even signs a contract - his role in the squad would be pretty much the same as it is now. IMO i would not mind him go - extend Mahrez and let Mahrez be phased out for Palmer in a few years, since they have a few resemblances + would be a perfect understudy.
Eric Garcia- Pep played him to the dismay of all of us, knowing he was leaving

Haaland has obviously made us infinitely stronger for next season but I really do hope the club push on and sort the key positions with huge quality in each area? There are also players who either want out or their time here has become stale ie sterling and Jesus so I hope we can give pep the refresh in the squad he desperately seemed to want a couple of years ago. We need imo:

Haaland (done! :-) )
Alvarez (done!)
De Jong or Bellingham
Nkunku or Anthony
Hickey

Out (if things stay as reported)

Sterling (possibly in a deal for de Jong)
Jesus
Fernandinho
Mendy (either way get rid!)
Zinchenko (if hickey comes in)
We should be able to generate a decent amount of cash on fringe/young/loan players as well?
