It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

I have a feeling that if sterling leaves (and also assuming Jesus leaves) the idea is literally just for palmer to take his spot. Have foden, grealish, Mahrez and palmer on the wings, haaland and Alvarez down the middle.

I think that misses pace, but it's also a bit intriguing. I like palmer I genuinely think he's in the foden-2019/20 place right now.

Would you say it'd be a disaster if sterling isn't replaced by a signing?
Massive mistake not only to replace one senior winger but even bigger if both left and no one came in. Palmer is rated but he cannot replace both of those. I’d accept his role as Jesus replacement.

Don’t know we’re to post this but I’m pissed off that we are selling bazunu to the saints . He should have been been our second keeper this season.
Try the EDS academy forum. He has his own thread there.
I tend to agree with you.
Hopefully we have a decent buy back clause as he is a very promising keeper.
Had two very good loan spells

Alvarez will play on the right mostly and will be ahead of palmer.

The guy is a first team keeper, can't blame him for wanting to go. Particularly when he's battling Travers and kelleher for the Ireland jersey. Good bit of business with the sell on/buy back

I’m really worried about the expectations our fans seem to have for Alvarez. It’s such a huge jump anything is possible but we should really expect a long adjustment period
To be fair its not too dissimilar to seeing FA/League Cup lineups with ten U18s in the starting lineup every season

Why are Arsenal fans saying Jesus to Arsenal is done? whats happened in the last hour

Maybe something has leaked their end that we don’t know about yet? Pretty sure it’s where he will end up so only a matter of time.
Agreed. It's looking very likely. Not going to lie I'm gutted he's going to Arsenal, I hate them cunts. It's going to be shit Gabby playing against us next season I was hoping he would move abroad. Best of luck to the lad he's a top professional.

i'd say it would be a disaster to let sterling go full stop. i have a feeling it will take a season for alvarez to adapt to england and to us. and with jesus looking like he's off we need some continuity.

Haaland is probably the fastest forward in the league, he’s rapid. I do think we need a speedy winger to compliment him.

So for argument sake say Jesus does sign for Arsenal and Sterling ends up signing for Chelsea for around £100mill combined. We’ve already sold Torres, Banuzu & Porro, if De Jong we’re to sign for say Utd and that meant Barca went for Bernardo for £80 mill.

We would have generated £250mill in sales, spent £70mill on Haaland & Alvarez somewhere around £40mill each on Cucurella and Phillips and then have £100mill for Bellingham…..as much as we wouldn’t want to lose Bernardo, Sterling and Jesus, 2 of them have a year left, the squad would look more balanced for me. Would most people be unhappy with that come September?
