I think it’s mad the stick Sterling gets. Yes it’s probably time to move on and let him go but people seem to have short memories with him. His form has dropped off a cliff (again) but just look at what he’s done overall for us.
When he does go, I hope it’s not a ‘thank fuck’ - he should get a lot of respect from every City fan IMO.
I think sterling has been a great buy! The 100 points season he was unstoppable at times.
He’s been a great professional on and off the pitch. If he said he was leaving at the end of year I’d give him a standing ovation and In years to come his stats would speak for themselves.
I do think football changes and moves on, sterling came through when wingers used to be all about being fast and tricky. He did a great job at learning how to be more of a goalscorer but its never felt natural has it?
These days football has more and more inside forwards who are clinical forwards that just play a wider position.
Thats what city need now, a player that you trust to score you a goal like salah and mane do.
