It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Here’s a left field one.

If Mahrez or Sterling did leave, maybe even late in the window, the club decide not to rush into buying a replacement but didn’t want to be left relying too much on Palmer and or other youth players.

How about signing Bale for a year?

He was still very useful for Spurs last season, we have the best medical department in the country IMO, he wouldn’t be overused, but could rotate in.

He apparently wants to keep playing club football so he can keep playing for Wales and the other option seems to be Cardiff who aren’t going to be paying him anything much so wages aren’t an issue.

Could lend a lot of CL winning experience to a side losing 2 or 3 of its most experienced players, gives the club time to scout and negotiate for a long term RW and try out the kids and in return he gets to add playing for Pep to his resume and probably a PL title.

Not exactly what I was thinking but that is an interesting shout. Bags of experience winning at the highest level, which could be incredibly valuable. He's still decent and also a threat at free kicks - I'm not sure we scored a direct one in the prem last year. Interesting for a single year option at least.

Or if we leave Keepers fantasy land and live in the real world…

He is excellent in 13/14, 14/15, 15/16, has an injury effected 16/17, is MOTM in the champions league final in 2017/18.

Then he falls out with Zidane and agrees to a move to China in summer 2019 WHICH FLORENTINO PEREZ PULLS THE PLUG ON.

He barely plays in 19/20 despite being fit, plays well at Spurs in 20/21.

Your version of events is so wrong its embarrassing, Perez himself would find it cringeworthy.

Read less Marca.
well at Spurs in 20/21. You have to be kidding me, he was a disaster back at Spurs, that simply did not work out for all parties.

I don't see the need to badmouth Cancelo or Bale in this thread.
Let's all calm down.

Youve already shown everyone you’ve not got a clue here, I’d just stop digging.

He had the best goals/minute ratio in the league and outscoded Mané, Sterling, Mahrez, Jesus despite only starting 10 games.

Haven’t met or seen any spurs fan that didn’t think it was a great loan.

I'd stay clear of bale. His form at spurs fluctuated too much and I know spurs fans who aren't even keen on having him back. I think the guys checked out of football after having a horrible end to his Madrid career and I don't think we'll see a shade of the player he was. Loves his golf more now too it seems haha.

I don't think mahrez leaves. But if raz and Jesus go we'll surely buy a winger... If not it's more minutes for Alvarez and Palmer, which I'd be happy about. But losing the pace and energy of Jesus and raz does frighten me.

From Martin hmmm
