It's Quiet 17 - Glory Thread

Don't get the fuss about announcing him during the run-in. The players will know he is coming either way, the staff will know either way, Erling will know either way, we as fans will know (trust) that he comes either way. No senior striker already at the club so no one will be too unsettled.

The media will probably write a lot of shite but they have been for the last 14 years anyway so whether its announced early or not has no bearing on that. I can see the club planning a high-profile announcement for the buzz but most people doesn't care about that, Haaland's stature generates enough buzz anyway

Me neither mate and maybe it works the other way and galvanizes the squad thy they know we have arguably the most potent number 9 in the world coming in!?

Surely it’s in our control.

If we haven’t formally made a bid, how can they announce a deal?
Feeling seems to be that the April 30th formal bid deadline for release clause is right.

Would explain the growing momentum behind journo stories and Berger from BVB.

So matter of time now until we trigger it and, once we do, it all falls into place very quickly.

Don’t disagree, but it seems like the rhetoric is that Dortmund need to announce the deal soon.

I was merely suggesting that they couldn’t if we hadn’t made a bid.

I would assume his release clause kicks in the day after either their league finishes or the CL final.

They could announce it once we trigger the clause -- whether that would be matter of days or weeks before we want to announce it officially, I don't know. There could be a gap inbetween the time at which it's tiggered and the time at which it's accepted... Remember Villa for example sat around killing time for like a week before accepting that we had triggered Jack's clause... and then they released that video from their owner explaining the deal... German club presidents are always speaking to the media so it's not particularly unlikely to happen

He will go to Villa and rot under Gerrard and that is his level imo
Slippy did get away with gbh if i recall. He will fit in well at Villa or until he is locked up.

Maybe take Steve G’s advice “ don’t let the soap slip, we gape again. ;)

Seems like there is some conflicting reports in Madrid media regarding how "done" the Tchouameni deal is. This guy says he prefers a PL move. Rumored fee is around £54m, would be a decent Fernandinho replacement. Wanted by many though, so could perhaps prefer a place as a starter in one of the other clubs interested.

The players are all talking about Haaland now.

They usually are one of the last to know about a signing, but Erling is pals with a few of our boys...
They would absolutely love to have him in the team too.

I'm sure none truely enjoy playing the false 9 position so his signing allows the guys to play in their preferred position.

Don't usually get excited in all the hype of signings but pretty excited now reading all this.

Could argue its our 'biggest' signing as we tend to stay away from these sorta transfers. Even serg we kinda just got unopposed.

Really hope this one comes off. Not since watching teletext over Ugo Egiogu been this excited

Am I allowed to get on the FDJ hype train despite there being literally no connection or rumours in the past 6 months?!

We want a midfielder, we chased him in the past and he’s hinted at regretting not coming while saying he wants to play in the Prem one day too.
